What is new at Redding Vet?
Lots!

It has been six short months since Dr. Townsell and Jonathan have been leading the team.

In the last six months, we have helped 2,885 patients! We welcomed Rian as our new practice manager and Heidi, an RVT.
We now have electronic medical records, a new dental x ray system, a portable ultrasound machine and an anesthetic multi-parameter monitor. We have additional training in cat friendly and low stress handling techniques for our nervous feline and canine friends.
These are just a few ways we are investing in the clinic so we can provide the most comprehensive care for your pet.

We are grateful for our wonderful clients and thank you for entrusting your pets to our care.

Teamwork.

This is Kidday. He was found by his owner breathing rapidly and not eating.

He had a condition called a pneumothorax, which is air around his lungs, making one of the lungs collapsed away from the body wall.
Treatment is thoracocentesis, where a small needle is inserted and the air is aspirated out.

In this photo, Dr Townsell is holding the needle steady in the chest while Amanda is aspirating out the air. Jon is keeping Kidday still with a “cat scarf” around his neck while the sweet kitty chows down on a Churu.
Low stress handling made all the difference in getting this procedure done quickly and safely.

We are happy to report that Kidday is recovering well at home with his family.

Exciting news!

Redding Veterinary Clinic is now proudly owned by Dr. Evelyn Townsell and Jonathan Fleming, RVT. You may notice some changes: a new logo, a redecorated lobby and an end to curbside care. There are other even more exciting things also happening behind the scenes!

We have new anethetic monitoring equipment and drugs to keep your pets safer and more comfortable during surgery and dental procedures. We have added ultrasound to complement the digital x ray. This helps us to diagnose your pet's condition more quickly and accurately.
We have more therapeutic options to help manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, allergies and diabetes.
Of course, we are here for the important preventative care too!

Dr. Bond retired, but the rest of the staff is all still here! You'll see Kris and Tera, Kaye, Kristi, Taylor and Amanda when you come visit us.

We are proud to be one of only two privately owned animal clinics in Redding. Thank you for trusitng us with your pet's care.

It is time, to announce the Retirement of
Dr Bond. As of July 27, 2024 Dr Bond will retire and turn the practice over to Dr Townsell and her husband Johnathan, who is an RVT.
Dr Bond and His wife Suzy would like to thank all of our wonderful clients for their continued support and our wonderful staff who has become like family, WE will miss you all. Argo the office dog will miss going to work and spending his days sleeping.
Dr Bond and Suzy plan on taking a longer than 4 day vacation and go to the coast in their motorhome.
It’s been a wonderful 24 years or so at Redding Veterinary Clinic. It’s hard to leave your beloved practice and friends. So on Friday July 26, we will be open to spend time visiting, reminiscing and saying Thank you. Come by if you have the time. It’s going to be a sad day for us, but we see happy times in our future.

During this massive heat wave, please make sure all of your pets are cool and comfortable. Have plenty of fresh water available at all times. If possible, please put out fresh water for our wildlife and wild birds. Change the water often as it will get so hot, the animals won’t be able to utilize your effort. Argo the office dog is enjoying laying under the ac and Rosie Clover is just kicking back ❤️🐾❤️
Rosie Clover was a kitten that was trapped inside a wall and brought to us at approximately 10 days old. We bottle fed her and she has turned out to be a wonderful addition to our fur family. Rosie Clover is 3 years old now
