Mutts Transport Service

MTS is a group of volunteers who drive animals from kill shelters in Northern CA to no kill rescues on the west coast. We do adoptions in our store.

No longer doing the transport part due to gas prices. Only running the pet supply store and rescue at a this time. These transports cost us on average $100 to $250 each trip, depending on what type of vehicle is going and how many need to go that direction, and how much gas is at that point. We sometimes have sleep over’s at our house for a night or two until transport is ready. If we do take the

animal home for a night it not only saves that animal but the one that fills the empty kennel at the shelter. If we had the funding and the unlimited volunteers, we could do these transports at least once a week. We do a lot of begging for these animals. We plead for money, drivers, crates, food, and most often we beg for time to find rescues and transport. Can you help? We understand not everyone can foster an animal for the shelter or drive 10 animals to the San Francisco, but there are many ways to help. We are always looking for crates, water/food dishes, blankets, food, leashes, collars and money or gas cards to transport these animals out of the shelters.

Store front is at 981 Lake blvd Redding CA 96003 open Tuesday they Friday 10-4 and Saturday 9:30-12. We were able to help 937 animals in 2016 and 762 in 2017.

Molly is an adorable 3-4 year Chihuahua blend. She is OK with cats and is good with other dogs. She would adore a lap to call her own and sit there and get petted all day. Molly is a little bit of a barker some days, but we think that she is justing watching out for her human and a little bit of chihuahua in her. The Chinese Crested is an alert dog that enjoys human companionship. They are funny little dogs that like to please their owners, and upon finding something that amuses you, are likely to do it again to get your attention. And also enjoy sitting in high places, the back of a couch or arm of a chair. Their activity level is medium to high but they enjoy quiet times with their family and adjust well to apartment living. This breed learns quickly and does well in various performance activities such as Agility, Obedience, Fly Ball, and Lure Coursing. Our hairless companions will require a little attention to make sure it is not sun-burned or exposed to the cold.

Edith is an active yet sweet girl who is almost five months old. She is a dilute calico who does well with other cats and dogs. She does give small love bites sometimes. Adoption fee of $45 includes spay, micro chip, felv/fiv testing, three shots and rabies. Broom Hilda is a female tortie. $80 adoption fee includes Neuter/Spay, microchip, 3 shots, FELV/FIV negative, rabies (when of age), deworming, flea meds. Good with other cats and raised around 4 dogs.
