It doesn’t get cuter than this! These Guinea Pigs sure do have it made. They eat a healthy diet, get plenty of exercise, socialize and get daily Vitamin C. The extra TLC from mom keeps them emotionally happy as well.

❗ A mysterious yet highly contagious disease is affecting dogs across the US and is similar to the symptoms of kennel cough or canine influenza. Be on the lookout for signs of upper respiratory illness in your dog, such as sneezing, coughing, nasal and/or eye discharge, and lethargy. If you suspect your dog may be affected, contact your veterinarian.

This is an evolving situation, and we will share information as soon as we have it.

Rebecca, a vet tech from Georgetown Veterinary Hospital, along with her son Caleb and the entire Ridgefield High School Soccer Team, participated in a game to support people living with breast cancer. The team raised over $3,500 for Ann's Place. Thank you for supporting this important cause!

Dental health is extremely important in our small animals. Brush the teeth every day using a soft bristled toothbrush and chicken flavored toothpaste. We also recommend following the tooth brushing with an oral wipe. Healthy teeth and gums keep other organ systems healthy. This should be a part of every dog owners daily routine.

Like dogs, cats need annual physical exams too. Once a year, we will do a full exam and address any concerns you may have about your cat. Please bring questions. We love to help guide our clients on nutrition, dental health and parasite control. Vaccines that need to be updated will be given as well. It's easier than ever to schedule an appointment. Georgetown Veterinary Hospital's Vet Tech Erin was in Suriname this past week. She volunteered her time and skills for the Caribbean Spay and Neuter Organization. The group was made up of 10 veterinarians, 15 technicians and many assistants from Suriname, Brazil, Nicaragua, South Africa and Quebec. They performed 733 surgeries in 4 days. Erin, you are an inspiration to all! We are so proud of you.

Did you know that dogs can get skin infections if their feet are left wet for too long? Bacteria and yeast love to collect in between their damp paw pads. So dry their feet with a towel after coming in from the rain. This can help prevent paw infections.
