Just a little update on Joe Joe!!! The first two pics are him when we got him, the last 3 are from today! 😍
Joe has overcome SO much in his life, but the past 2 years he’s shown he’s a fighter! Joe got better, then got really sick again, then better and then sick. It’s been a battle, but he is literally with THE PERFECT family that NEVER gave up on him! Today, he was trail riding with one of his people and I almost shed a few tears! I couldn’t quit talking about how amazing he was and how amazing he looked!!

I LOVE a happy ending, and Joe is the biggest happy ending we’ve ever had!! So thankful to his new family for giving him a second chance and such an amazing life full of love!!! ❤️❤️❤️

💞 Horses have been adopted 💞

‼️ Horses are pending pick up‼️

I hate to make this announcemnt, but I lost my job several months ago and we have been trying our hardest to hang on. I have a new job, but we are playing catch up on bills and our personal animals, so it’s becoming a major strain for us to try and take in other horses at the moment. 😢 My dream is that none will suffer, but we just cannot continue to do it on our own and out of our own pockets. I pray that when we catch back up, we can continue to help horses in need.

With that being said, we do have 2 horses available. One will be a pasture pet/companion horse only. The other is broke. He needs work because it’s been so long since he’s been messed with, but he really wants to please. He does still need some more weight, but we can see a difference already since we’ve had him.

Please, no bashing or ugly words. We are doing our absolute best to care for these amazing animals, but we have to make sure our family is taken care of first and foremost.

Poppas Half back in 2009!!!

Poppa’s Half, AKA: Pops!
He’s still got quite a bit of weight to gain, but let me just tell you… this guy is such a gentleman!!

Pops stood stock still tied to the trailer. Never tried to pull back, and if he tried to move, once he felt pressure, he came right back to it! I brushed him all over his body, brushed his mane and forelock and got all the knots out! I would’ve brushed his tail, but I’m out of detangler. 😞 he let me pick up all 4 feet and I was able to clean the front 2. The back ones, he’s still a little timid, but I think he’ll remember it’s all okay in no time!
After all the grooming, he let me saddle him up, and when I say this horse didn’t budge… he didn’t move an inch!! I didn’t cinch him too tight, but tight enough the saddle wouldn’t move and he felt it! We trotted around and walked all over the property and he didn’t give me any funny business at all!! I’m so proud of this boy! I untacked him, brushed him some more, blanketed him and let him go! This boy is going to be something special. ❤️ He already was once, and I’m determined to help him get there again!!!! 😍🐎

Older picture, but it’s the only one I have at the moment.

We are headed home with Poppas Half! He’s an 18 year old thoroughbred gelding! He’s raced and won in his lifetime. Poppas Half shows so much potential! We can’t wait to get him home, healthy and start working with him! It’s so sad to see these horses go from Riches to Rags! I can’t wait to see what all he becomes! 😍❤️

🦄 I would like to introduce Cherokees Bar Fly.. AKA: Cherry.

Cherry is a 25 year old APHA mare. She stands at 15 hands. Her owner has had her since she was 4 months old! Unfortunately, her owner is elderly in her 80’s and is no longer physically able to care for her as she needs.

We are so excited to get to know her and her personality! She is my boy Odie’s TWIN in mare form!! 😍❤️

I am absolutely over the moon excited right now! My friend Virginia found a trainer that was the PERFECT fit for Dixie! Y’all. Look at this gorgeous girl!! He is RIDING her!! Not only riding her, but he has no feet in the stirrups and he’s ponying another horse off of her!!! 😍

This is what putting a horse in the right hands can do!!! My heart is SO FULL!!!! I love happy endings!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

💥Update on the horse tied to sapling💥

Animal control went and spoke with the owner. Apparently he rescued the horse from someone in Benton. Some pit bulls got on his property and chased it through the fence. Animal control took the pit bulls and checked out this guys property. They said the man had plenty of land and showed them the feed and everything he has to care for the horse. The fence has been repaired and the horse is back in.

‼️WARNING! BIG RANT‼️

This is the 3rd call I’ve gotten in 3 weeks regarding loose horses or abandoned horses. And the past 2 calls have been in this condition.
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! If you don’t have the means or knowledge it takes to care for a horse, DONT GET IT!!!! If you’re trying to “save” it and you don’t have the means, call a rescue or the police! No animal deserves to be in this condition. Horses are NOT cheap. To PROPERLY care for a horse, you need to be able to get their teeth floated once a year at minimum. Some horses require every 6 months. They need their hooves trimmed every 6-8 weeks. My farrier and I are on a schedule for every 6 weeks in the summer and every 8 in the winter. They need wormed once a quarter. Some may require chiropractic and massage therapy work. Some may require injections. You need to have PLENTY of clean drinking water available at all times. Horses do best on natural forage (grass/hay). If you do not have it, you will have to purchase it. I also feed a pelleted feed with supplements to fit each horses needs. They also need a coggins test done once a year, along with their yearly vaccinations. NONE of the above are “options”. This is PROPER care. If you’re not ready for this, respectfully, don’t get the horse!!!

This particular horse is tied to a sapling with NO water. Believed to be abandoned. I’ve contacted the police to make sure I can legally pick it up without trespassing and prosecution myself. Praying I hear from them ASAP so I can go and save this poor thing! 💔

Still no owners to claim these two.

We have officially wormed them today, started them on some soaked alfalfa/bermuda to help gain some weight. They will get their feet trimmed in 2 weeks and we’ll get a current coggins and their teeth looked at.

We have been messing with them and they are extremely friendly horses. We Can pick up and clean out their hooves and spray them with fly spray. They also LOVE to stand for a good bath with the water hose!! 😍

We haven’t come up with any names yet.. trying not to get too attached in case the owners do show. Keep looking for more updates! 🩷🩵

Little Wilbur is starting to gain some weight!! 😍 Nora’s rain rot is coming along, but it will take time to heal all the way up! These cuties have been so fun to watch!! 🥰

We got a call today about 2 horses that had shown up at someone’s home and had been there for 2 days. (Hensley, AR close to Hensley Loop) They tried to find the owners and contacted the sheriffs office. They were told they didn’t have anywhere to put them and asked if they could keep them, so they reached out asking if we could help!

They are beautiful horses. Both need weight and some TLC. The mare has a huge knee, and is pasture sound only. She has a few cloudy spots in her left eye.

We now have possession of these horses and they will remain in our care unless someone claims them and can provide VALID PROOF of ownership!
