UPDATE: Bodhi has been adopted!

Bodhi is an incredibly handsome and distinctive kitten. His fur is referred to as "black smoke". His brother, Wyatt, has the same coat pattern. He is a friendly, playful and curious kitten. He is about 10 weeks old. He gets along with other cats and will be a fantastic companion!

Friends, we've been posting and posting about our hound Elvis who is in need of help (he is heartworm positive AND had a cancerous mass removed) and last week we got an overwhelming response of people offering! But we realized after speaking with some of these folks that perhaps Elvis's condition wasn't made clear, so we wanted to take the opportunity to clarify where he is at currently and what we're looking for.

Elvis is somewhere between 5-8 ish years of age and about 65 #. He is a happy, bouncing boy, and he doesn't know anything is wrong with him at this point. He loves going for walks, and rolling in the grass and using that hound nose of his to explore.

While we are looking for a long-term foster/hospice home (or even better, adoptive home) for Elvis, he is not on death's door. We have no way of knowing how much time he has, or if his cancerous mass will come back. It was a low grade mass, meaning it is less likely to be aggressive, but as we all know, cancer can do whatever it wants. We have made the decision, along with our veterinarian's guidance, to treat Elvis's heartworm with a slow kill method that allows him to run and play and do whatever he feels up to doing. This is instead of a fast kill heartworm treatment that would require Elvis to be kept quiet for 2 months.

Elvis seems to like other dogs and has been indifferent towards cats (please keep in mind, proper introductions will still need to be made). He is friendly with everyone he meets. He needs a home where he can get lots of love, TLC, fresh air and attention. We hope this clears things up a bit and we are still in search of someone! Please message us directly if you can help!

Four years ago, I helped a friend rescue a blind senior poodle she named Gulliver. He crossed the rainbow bridge last week. She has no regrets about the four years she had with him. He got to live a happy life in his last years. RIP Gulliver.
