My best friend posted this recently💓 Thanks Kate Cloud!

Every minute someone leaves this world behind. Age has nothing to do with it.
We are all in "the line" without knowing it.
We never know how many people are before us.
We can not move to the back of the line.
We can not step out of the line.
We can not avoid the line.

So while we wait in line:

Make moments count.
Make priorities.
Make the time.
Make your gifts known.
Make a nobody feel like a somebody.
Make your voice heard.
Make the small things big.
Make someone smile.
Make the change.
Make love.
Make up.
Make peace.
Make sure to tell your people they are loved.
Make sure to have no regrets.
Make sure you are ready…

I'm often asked if horses can heal from what they are going through.🩵 It's a tough conversation to have, and tears are shed while we come up with a plan. I try to open up a portal in the mind to the healing that can take place through situations of injury or immense disease, if we allow it.

Our human brain can often put horses in a "box" when it comes to healing. A box that horses have to conform to, and it defines where their lives begin, and end. We are the controlling factor. Sometimes, as difficult as it seems, we need to get out of their way to allow their natural healing process take over. No, I don't mean to leave a horse in pain and do nothing; Rather, energetically get out of their way.

I've had my own experience in the beginning of my horse journey with this, and wish that I knew then what I know now. But, that was my greatest teacher.

Horses are master healers 💓
With the right tools, I've seen them heal from places we never thought possible. We humans are the same. Our cells hear every word that we think and feel. Do you think your body can heal? Do you FEEL it can heal?? Then tell it so. Everyday. Because it can hear you!! And it will use those words and direct that healing, loving energy where it needs to go.

The placebo effect is as strong as it is for a reason🩵

I was given a 50% chance of living, SURVIVING past 5 years, and a 13% chance of living past 10 years. But that's NOT my story, and my body knows that. I feel it every day. We have to write our own stories, and believe with all 30 trillion cells that WE design and construct our healthy bodies; that no one gets to tell us what our bodies can and cannot do, no matter how big or small the obstacle.✨

Much love to you all today!!

So EXCITED to have added a Port Lewis Saddle Fitting System to my Bodywork and PEMF business!! Having had my hands on thousands of sport horses in my career over every discipline gives me insight to what their bodies communicate when they are both healthy, dealing with pain, or masking issues, which horses are phenomenal at, due to being prey animals and needing that trait for survival.

So many horse owners struggle with saddle fit. Correcting the fit is something I feel passionately about, as I see or feel the resulting lameness in the body that horses suffer from being ridden in ill fitting saddles, which usually can be reversed when caught and corrected in time.

Chasing a hidden issue in your horse? You are not alone! And I can help 🩵 No pressure to buy a specific saddle because I'm not attached to a saddle company; my goal is to relieve things for your horse.

While PEMF is highly effective, the difference between a low-level and high-level machine will greatly affect a patient's outcome. Find out the differences.

Combating Seasonal Affective Disorder as an Equestrian🩵🥶🏇

Winter brings unique challenges for equestrians; less time outdoors and doing what we love (riding or playing with our horses) and the shorter, colder days can lead to Seasonal Affect Disorder (SAD), a type of depression related to seasonal changes❄️🌨️.

I lived in Western WA for over 30 years, and didn't realize how truly affected I was until we moved to Central OR where it's sunny most of the winter (and freezing🥶🤣)! So both David and I started to see positive changes in ourselves after that move 💓

Here's my approach to coping with the winter blues:

*Staying Active with Your Horse: Regular riding is crucial. The physical activity and the emotional connection with your horse can significantly lift your spirits.

*If riding isn't possible, PLAY!! There are SO MANY games that you can play, things to teach you horse, meditations etc etc etc that you can do even in the DARK that will help produce feel good hormones in your brain, and help improve your heart connection with your horses💛💛💛 I've been taking a Heart Math Institute class with Kansas Carradine of Cavalia, and meditating and communicating with my horses (and client horses🥰) and my communication skills with horses are soaring to be levels SO quickly. Reach out if you'd like her information for Heart Math, or info on events coming up this season at my property, and clinics teaching connection plus other skills with incredible clinicians!! I'll be posting events soon on my page as well🏇🩵

*PEMF Therapy: This lovely therapy helps put our Bodies in the parasympathetic system, decreases cortisol production, increases relaxation and the rest/digest state which is how we heal. PEMF is rejuvenating, while reducing symptoms of pain and depression. Among SO much more. AND you can do this at the same time as your horse!! Connect and relax together🩵🐎 Horses LOVE doing this with their humans! It creates unbreakable bonds when you do activities like this with your horses💓

*Regular Exercise: Engaging in exercise releases endorphins, the body's natural mood elevators. When we feel low, it's tough to get to the gym, however home workouts are wonderful!! And this is what I did to get fit for Tevis ; I didn't go to the gym because I knew I didn't have time!! Create a workout program at home you KNOW you'll succeed at; yoga, or brisk walks. Body movement and staying active is key.🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Healthy Diet: what goes in is highly impacting of the way we feel!! 🥰🥺🩵 A diet rich in magnesium, a full spectrum of vitamins, Omega-3 fatty acids, BCAAs to rebuild ALL systems of the body, and ESPECIALLY Vitamin D (and the right kind of D, not just anything off the shelf), can improve mood and energy levels during winter.

Light Therapy: Using a light therapy box to mimic outdoor light can cause a chemical change in your brain that lifts your mood✨

This is especially effective in the morning! Get those feel good hormones flowing first thing!!🥰

Stay Socially Connected: Keeping in touch with friends, family, or fellow equestrians combats feelings of isolation common in winter🏇🏇 Find a riding buddy, running buddy, an anything "active" buddy and MAKE PLANS!!

Practicing Gratitude: Cultivating a gratitude practice can have a profound impact on your outlook, and keep your heart open and feeling positive🩵🩵🩵

Taking time each day to reflect on what you're thankful for can significantly boost feelings of happiness and well-being; health, your horse, or the beauty of a snowy trail underneath your feet can all become a practice in gratitude!!🙌

Our bond with our horses brings immense joy, even in winter🏇🩵 By taking care of our mental health through these practices, we continue to enjoy our passion and strengthen our connection with our equine partners. Pick one, and begin... You don't have to start and be overwhelmed💛 Beginning a practice begins with one step, and soon you'll have a full routine in place that helps you to stay grounded, connected to your horses and your heart. 💓
