Which Pet Is Right For You - The Final Chapter!
Have you ever wanted a dog? Or any other pet? Dogs are probably the most popular pet, but also the most complicated pet. As you look into breed and where you are going to get the pup, you realize that’s it is a lot harder than it seems. You can often find your self-feeling overwhelmed. The key is to know what you need and want before you invest your time into finding what you want.
The first step for finding a dog is deciding what breed and size you would like. The larger dog breeds include Pitbulls, German Shepards, Golden Retrievers, cattle dogs, labradors, Labrador Retrievers, and standard Poodles. Those are some of the more common large dog breeds. The pitbull and the german shepard have been commonly used as guard dogs. They can also have a mean streak, so be careful if you have small children who could agitate the large possibly aggressive dog. Cattle dogs and labradors are common working dogs and are great for farms and in the countryside. They can also be great family pets. Another breed is the Great Dane who is also a very good and gentle dog for families, but they can also work despite their tall frail figure. Golden retrievers and standard poodles are very popular and obedient dogs. They are very easy to train and can be great family pets. These two both need to be groomed often and will require very advanced brushing tools to care for their manes. These larger breeds will also require larger supplies. They will need a large bed, large cages, large food bowls. brushes, collars, leashes (I recommend retractable leashes), heavy-duty shampoo and conditioner, and you will also need large bones to keep them busy. I would recommend buying some great toys as well. I would recommend buying durable frisbees, balls, and other durable chew toys.
Another size of dogs is your medium dogs which can include breeds like corgis, bulldogs, cocker spaniels, border collie, dalmatians, beagles, and terriers. These dogs are some of the best family dogs. They also have high energy. I recommend lots of toys and walks. Walking your dogs is a very important thing to do. They will also need to chew bones and treats. The border collie is a very furry dog and will probably require lots of grooming. You will need to take into consideration their temperaments as well.
If you are using certain dogs for emotional support or therapy, I would suggest the cocker spaniel or the border collie. They are the most empathetic and also the easiest to train in the medium dog category. Finally, the small breed dogs, are the cute, little, and precious babies that we all know of. These types of breeds include Chihuahuas, Yorkshire Terriers (Yorkies), Carin Terriers, Minature Poodles, Shih Tzus, Pugs, Maltese, Bichon Frise, Havanese, Papillon, and Pomeranian. These are just a couple of fluffy foo dogs. They are the cutest dogs on the map. They tend to be the most expensive and require lots of attention. Surprisingly all of these dogs are easy to train. They are very cuddly and are often considered lap dogs. These dogs are often recommended to be therapy or emotional support animals. They are very sweet. They also will need lots of grooming especially Poodles, Havanese, and Bichon Frise. Chihuahuas are often claimed to be mean, but can actually be quite good as therapy dogs. They are spunky, energetic companions. They can cling to one person but in many cases this isn’t the case. If your dog is a mutt or mixed breed they will gain traits from both sides so make sure to do your research before you invest in a dog. You will also need to consider who or where you are going to get your pet. You could get your pet from a breeder. Or you could get your pet from an organization. These places foster usually older small breed pets. They can also foster younger young dogs. But usually, they foster older dogs. The advantage of doing this is you know the back story of the pets. You can also go to the pound. The pound collects abused and neglected. They take pets who are surrendred lost and all of the above. Adopting pets from the pound is also a very good idea. It will save the life of a furry friend who could be your new best friend. Just like any of the other animals of this series.
