Another Gratitude post. I feel it's incredibly important to validate feelings, and this one is valid-er than heck. If I could tell 12 year old me that this is where I'd be in my horse journey, with this mindset, this hard earned skill set and this horse, I'd do it the way I did it. Also I just purchased a second Magnawave PEMF machine, which is amazing!! Thanks to my horse-first clients that offer the finest in care to their beloved family members!

Let's stop normalizing this. False bend leads to biomechanical breakdown in the kinetic chain, to the detriment of your horse. This, my horse loving friends, is a member of our own USA Dressage team this year.

This post was supposed to be about a carpus in need, but I had a change of mind. I'm so forever grateful for my place in the horse community, being able to positively impact horses around me is just supermazing. Really, really so great. I wish 11 year old me could have known this was all going to work out just fine.

My go-to carpus assist is this set up, Infrared on 4 (revitavet IR2 Complete) and a PEMF loop on medium (Magnawave Julian Duo with butterfly loop)

Not shown is next step, flip the IR2 pad around and get the back of the distal forearm as well. Sometimes I'll use the tendon saver or knee saver there at the same time.

Its well known that landing after jumps can put significant stress on a horse's joints! The tendons act as shock absorbers to this stress, ligaments give the joint excursion boundaries that keep the joint in line. Caring for the muscles with bodywork is an excellent way to keep your jumping horse in good shape!

My configuration of PEMF loops to address a pelvic strain/tight IT band because horses with a balanced pelvis are more likely to perform well in various disciplines, whether in racing, jumping, dressage, or leisure riding.

A balanced pelvis contributes to the horse's overall comfort, allowing them to move freely and perform tasks without discomfort or compensatory movements that could affect performance negatively.

I prefer, when possible, to go without a halter when working with a horse. It gives them autonomy over what's happening. Listening is a critical skill of equine bodywork.

Some pics from my week.

I prefer to work without a halter on them if possible. The ability for them to chose to stay with me or move away is important, I feel. I've never been one to "put" bodywork on a horse.

Freedom of choice gives them input on questions I am asking of their bodies. It's fascinating!
