This Kitty has been waiting 9 years for her forever home ! At
Kendra is one of the longest-waiting cats at Warwick Valley Humane Society.
She arrived in 2012 with her two sisters.
Her siblings have gone home, and Kendra is still waiting.
9 years is a LONG TIME. It's a long time for us humans, but could be half a lifetime for a cat. It would kinda be like if you or I were in a shelter from when we were just babies until we were like 40 years old.
Think of all the things we'd have missed! It would not have been fun. Nobody WANTS to live in a cage.
Well, I have spent time with Kendra, and she is READY TO HAVE FUN! She may have been semi-feral back in 2012 when she arrived, but now she wants some attention and some excitement. She is starting to venture out of her cage during "cat recess" in the mornings. She purrs louder than anyone else in the lobby office where she is stationed. She may not be seen as the flashiest or fanciest cat in the shelter (altho I think she is beautiful!) but if someone is looking to help a "long timer" then meeting Kendra is a good place to begin!
