There will be a Large animal doctor on call for Large Animal Emergencies Only. The office will be closed, and you will NOT be able to stop in to pick up product. You will need to make arrangements with the on call doctor. Please plan accordingly and call into the office to pick up any product you may need by Thursday, July 3rd.

If your pet needs a medication refill, please contact by Wednesday, July 2nd to have it filled before we close on Thursday the 3rd. We want to give you plenty of time in order for you to be able to plan ahead for your pets' medication and care needs.

Every year, animal shelters see a rise in lost pets around Independence Day as our furry friends get spooked by the loud fireworks. Their sensitive ears can’t handle the bangs, and frightened pets can run miles to escape the noise.

Prepare in advance:
🐾 Ensure your pets have updated ID tags.
🐾 Talk to your vet about microchipping for better chances of a reunion if your pet gets lost.
🐾 Verify that your microchip registry contact info is current.
🐾 Keep a recent photo of your pets.
🐾 Consult your vet about medication if your pet gets anxious.
🐾 Create a safe, quiet space for your pet indoors, with soothing music or TV.

As temperatures rise, so does the risk of heatstroke in dogs, a life-threatening condition that can affect any pup, even during seemingly mild weather.

🌡️ How does heatstroke happen?
Dogs primarily cool themselves by panting, not sweating like humans. In hot or humid conditions, this method becomes ineffective, and their body temperature can rise to dangerous levels fast.

🚗 One major risk? Being left in a parked car. Even on a 70°F day, a car’s interior can soar past 110°F within minutes, even with cracked windows or running A/C.

🐕‍🦺 Another danger? Exercising during the heat of the day. Walks or playtime in high temperatures can lead to overheating faster than you think. Aim for early morning or late evening, and always provide fresh water.

⚠️ Some dogs are more at risk, including those who are older, overweight, or have flat faces (like Pugs or Boxers), as well as those with heart or breathing conditions.
