Laid down an absolutely beautiful run!!

The rest of the weekend wasn’t was Alli wanted it to be but they did end up 15th overall. Alli recognized some errors in her cues that made things confusing for Cookie so this morning they got to work on fixing those little things. Cookie had a couple of bobbles, things that happen sometimes, but we all know they will be working hard to prepare for Bryan!

Are finally starting to settle in to showing. We had better stops, and more speed difference and control of circles in reining. We still have work to do on lead changes, lope over logs and drag logs. No worries, we were up and at it first thing this morning!

Great Show today put on by Lavaca Ranch/Reined Cow Horse Show!

Brooke Carlisle Schubert & took on their first cow horse show, earned a little jackpot money and took home the Ranch high point for the day!!

Steve Small & ran a very heart pounding run in the Nonpro working cow horse, earning some jackpot money and Top 5 in the Ranch classes.

Allison Bauer & had a fantastic first run at a box drive box drive, earned some jackpot money and the high point ranch and series high point ranch buckle!

Afton Bauer & tried things a little different today. Made a smooth but not very challenging cow run. Took home reserve high point in ranch classes.

All in all this is a fantastic way to dip your toes into cow classes! Can’t wait until next year to bring along some new horses and riders!!

Our goal this year was to make clean runs and place top 10… we are so impressed with our Cookie and how far she has come in a very short time! Alli and Cookie have found a groove and it is so fun to watch! Way to show off that mare Alli! 👸🥰

Diamond in the Rough…

That is what we call . Allison Bauer and Cookie are the 2024 Texas State 4-H Jr Stock Horseman and High Point Paint Jr Stock Horse!! They earned 2 State Champion Buckles for Jr Stock Horse Showmanship and Jr Stock Horsemanship. They earned 2 Reserve State Championship Buckles for Jr Stock Horse Pleasure and Jr Reining. They also placed 3rd in Jr Stock Horse Trail and 6th in Jr Working Cow Horse.

Alli & were the State Champion Jr Cow Boxing

Alli & were the Reserve Champion 2 year old Futurity. They earned 2nd in both 2 yr old pleasure pattern and 2 yr Western Pleasure as well as a 5th place in 2 yr Versatility.

Alli & we’re 6th in Yearling Futurities placing 9th in In Hand Trail, 3rd in Showmanship, 8th in Longe Line and 3rd in Yearling Geldings Halter.

Abi and were 5th in Mares 5 & over. She had some good patterns but beginner bobbles got her.

Madeline & Diamond were 8th in Jr Stock Horse Showmanship and Finalist in Jr Stock Horsemanship.

We cannot thank our family, friends and coaches nearly enough!!

Thursday was a super busy day!!!

Started the day with Stock Horse Showmanship Finals
8th Madeline Janak
Champion Allison Bauer

Alli & 2 year old Elsa were 2nd in the 2year old pleasure pattern.

Alli was 1st in the reining Prelims and 3rd in Stock Horse Pleasure.

Madeline and Abigail had some good runs and some learning to do but they did well!

Now just have to get through Friday 😬
