Found Dog / Seeking Information

On Monday, January 13, 2025, a male brindle pit bull puppy, approximately 4 months old, was found on Leddy Park Road. The dog was emaciated, wearing a tight collar and no microchip.

We are looking for help in identifying the owners. If you are the owner or have any information, please call (802) 658-2700 and press 9 to speak with dispatch.

Dog will not be released to the owner until they have spoken to a community service officer or police officer.

FOUND 1/11/25, Amityville, case #25-22, male, contact Babylon Animal Shelter to identify/claim, 631-643-9270. If you are interested in adopting, you can come to the shelter, meet the dog, and then put in an adoption application. Up to 5 applications will be taken. Our strays are held 5 days by law and then they will get an exam, Heartworm test, microchip, and spay/neuter, and other medical procedures. Only once that is complete can they be picked up for adoption. You can expect it to take 1-3 weeks before a dog is ready for adoption.

Meet Laverne! Abandoned with her sister in an apartment, we don’t know how long these two were left alone, but they came to us in terrible shape; covered in infected sores and terrified of the world.

While Laverne’s sister quickly warmed up and found her forever home, Laverne took a bit more time to rebuild her trust in people. Now, this pint-sized 60-pound queen has blossomed into a volunteer favorite and a total mush!

Laverne’s journey hasn’t erased all her fears. She can still be a little nervous with strangers, but her sweet and loving nature shines once she feels safe. To help her thrive, we’re seeking an adult-only home where she can enjoy the love and stability she deserves.
