Many of you may remember Hershey’s litter from a few months ago. Well, we got to give one of her puppies its first haircut today! Seeing these babies back in our salon and thriving with their new fur siblings and families is one of our biggest joys!

This might look like a hot mess to most, but to the people in our mountains it looks like clothes to keep warm, tents to pitch while they recover, grills to prepare meals, and hope while they regain some normalcy. Thank you so much to everyone who cleaned out closets, went through their storage buildings, and made donations this week. We will keep making trips to the supply warehouse in Morganton as long as you are donating!

Have you ever seen a more perfect little poodle face??? Meet FIN! Fin is a larger than life little guy who makes up for his compact size with a heart the size of Texas. He is the first one to come greet me after his morning potty break and ask to be picked up for kisses and snuggles. He loves playtime with his siblings, but when it’s time to crash this little guy is out like a light. I know for a certain his best friend is out there. Is it you?

We will be making another trip to the supply distribution area in Morganton on Sunday! While there last week they asked for camping supplies and warm clothing to prep for the incoming cold weather.

Your donation items have been purchased and delivered! These folks have such an amazing system setup for getting these items loaded into UTV’s and trucks and delivered directly to families. These folks are plumbers, contractors, tradesmen, and business owners who have stopped their lives to help others. They were such an inspiration.

They did give us a wish list of items to start working on so we will repack the trailer next week to continue helping!

Y’all…. What a week. From taking in additional fosters to assisting with the second plane of pups to arrive from Henderson County, it has been a whirlwind of a few days. Today we are headed to western North Carolina with a load of supplies and a sweet pup named Kiva who is hitching a ride to her new family!

When you look at these pictures we hope that you see yourselves instead of us in these images. YOU are the reason that CA is able to volunteer, YOU are the reason that these supplies are headed to families, YOU are the reason Red Dog is able to keep saying “yes” to animals in need, and YOU are the reason Kiva will have a warm bed to cuddle in with her new parents tonight ❤️🐾

Meet the hurricane pups!!

First up we have FROGGER! Do those look like back legs to you? Nope! Those are 2 year old springs in disguise! Since his arrival we have seen him take approximately 3 steps, the rest of his movements are the cutest “boings” you’ve ever seen! He is incredibly respectful, kennels willingly, and looooves a smooch on the cheek ❤️🐾

Next, meet HEWEY! Hewey is an older distinguished gentleman coming in at approximately 7 years old. Since his arrival today he has been a little bit nervous, but so willing to learn and adapt. We think Hewey may have some hearing impairment, but don’t let his gray muzzle fool you… this guy loves a good time, a long walk, and a lap to cuddle in ❤️🐾

And last but not least, meet KIVA! Kiva is a sweet hound mix who is already pending adoption! She will be taking a long journey this weekend to meet her new family and we are wishing her all the pup cups, and back seat naps a dog could ask for! Wish her well as she adjusts and her new family learns to love her just like we have ❤️🐾

These are just three of the many faces who need loving homes as a result of Hurricane Helene. Every pup that is adopted makes room for one more pup to have dry space in Asheville while they await their families that are looking desperately for them.
