2008 Section D Welsh Cob (WPCSA) in turn-key package including his Knhule marathon carriage and quick release harness!

Goldhills Welshman (aka “Ty”) sired by Okeden Taffy, and out of Goldhills Welsh Legacy

Ty is a beautiful chestnut 15.2 hand gelding. He is show fit with a gorgeous dappled dark chestnut coat and a thick luxurious mane and tail, and super long forelock. Very good confirmation and could easily go compete in Welsh breed halter classes!

Ty is perfectly healthy and sound in every way, current on vaccines, and has good solid feet. Vet checks are welcomed and encouraged!

Ty is looking for a new show partner who is ready to go win! He has primarily been used as a ladies driving partner most of his life. He is super fun to drive, energetic and forward moving, and is happy and eager to work. Ty competed successfully in pleasure driving and combined driving events back in 2014 through 2017 winning several championships. He could easily fall back into a show program and go win if given the opportunity! But he is just as happy to go hit the local trails or drive casually around the farm lanes or in an arena setting.

While his expertise is driving, Ty is also broke to ride (but recommended for a more advanced confident rider). He is not your dead head beginner horse! He will walk, trot, and canter correctly on both leads, moves well off leg pressure, and even has a start in some dressage moves. He has a beautiful forward trot and big rolling canter. He could potentially make a great academy prospect for more advance riding and driving students!

Ty is an easy keeper around the barn with good ground manners, easy to handle and lead, groom and bath, cross tie or trailer tie. He does not crib and has no issues being stalled or pastured. He is very friendly and will easily bond with someone who shows him lots of TLC and treats.

Ty is located at Nickerson Farms in Reidsville, NC. he is priced to sell as a turn-key package including his Knhule marathon carriage and quick release harness. We will be selective about his buyer with special consideration towards Welsh farms, and or those who compete in carriage driving events.

We are a Private family farm with about 15 horses located in Reidsville NC. We love and enjoy our horses on a daily basis. We also offer very limited selective boarding, riding lessons, birthday parties, and hay for sale.

We are expanding our team, looking for a part time dependable, hard working, and self motivated individual ADULT that has experience caring and working with horses.

Potential for full time work can also be considered.

Must be 18+ with valid drivers license, speak English, and pass a reasonable background check.

Afternoon position 1:00-5:30/6:00pm, 5 days per week including Friday and Saturday (we can be somewhat flexible with the schedule but Friday and Saturday is mandatory).

Competitive pay is based on horse experience. Paid weekly on Friday (reported with 1099).

Generally the daily duties will include:
-PM Feeding horses grain, hay, and supplements
-Ability to look at a horse and detect if it is sick, hurt, or lame within reason.
-Handling Horses (halter, leading)
-Turnouts
-Blankets and sheets
-Cleaning and bedding stalls
-Cleaning wash rack and drains
-Cleaning automatic waterers (inside stalls and outside pastures)
-Cleaning feed room
-Sweep alleyways

Other duties as needed may include:
-Maintaining arenas (watering and dragging)
-Basic Barn maintenance/Upkeep/cleaning
-Organizing/cleaning of tack rooms, bathroom.
-Washing Horse and barn laundry on-site.
-Cleaning tack and carriages
-Mowing, w**d eating (zero turn mower, can train)
-Handling horses – hand walking/lunging/saddling/grooming/bathing/clipping/holding for vet and farrier
-Loading and unloading hay bales from truck, and carrying 50lb bags of grain.
-Refill automatic fly spray system and clean spray nodules as needed
-Checking pasture gates and fence lines

Extra but optional:
-experience with farm equipment and driving a truck with trailer is a huge bonus

We introduced Music and Ava today as pasture mates in hopes they will get along well so their babies can play together in a few weeks 💕.

Nick officially moved them into the baby barn last night and now our team is trying to get the paddock around the little barn finished for them! We are racing the baby due dates clock at this point. 2 week count down for Music!
