Join us for the fun and make a masterpiece of your dog! Save the date for our Paint Party at DVGRR!

Join us to paint this adorable COLORFUL masterpiece of your dog here at DVGRR on Sunday, March 16th at 1 pm.

You will need to email a headshot photo of your dog to Andrea, our Art Instructor for the event, so she can sketch out your dog’s face on a 16″ x 20″ canvas. EMAIL Andrea after you register and include your name and reference DVGRR Paint Party. Andrea’s email address is [email protected]

You will then complete your painting here at DVGRR with step-by-step instructions.

The event will be held in our Adoption and Activities Center at DVGRR from 1 pm-4 pm. (In case of wintry weather, this event will be rescheduled for another time)

$40 per person will include all supplies, tips, tricks, techniques & step-by-step instructions to paint your own canine masterpiece.

Feel free to BYOB and snacks! DVGRR will provide bottled water and soda.

🎨🎨 Calling all artists, crafters, and businesses! 🎨🎨

We are looking for unique and creative donations that can be customized with our DVGRR logo. Items like pottery, glasswork, stained glass, plus gift baskets, etc... for our 2025 "Colour My World" Golden Gala auctions.

If you're a business willing to create a gift basket for the event you can include your business card, and your name will be displayed on signage at the event!

We have many volunteer positions that will coincide with your availability, talents, and interests. We offer hands-on opportunities with our DVGRR dogs, as well as other opportunities for those not capable of working directly with the dogs due to time constraints or location.

DVGRR Dog Playtime Volunteers Needed!

Playtimes are engaging and so much fun for the dogs and humans at DVGRR. Volunteering for playtimes is a huge benefit as it allows the dogs to spend more time outside burning some energy. As a volunteer working with the dogs, you will be able to provide extremely helpful feedback that will be beneficial in finding adoptive homes for the dogs as you learn their personalities, the toys they like, how they interact with you, etc.

The dogs at DVGRR go out for exercise during the morning and evening shifts. We are looking for volunteers who are eager to spend time in the yard throwing tennis balls, running around, and giving the dogs plenty of love! Playtime can consist of one single dog or a group of two or more. Our playtime schedule runs from 9 AM- 12 Noon and then again from 6-8:00 PM with the flexibility to leave early if needed. Playtimes occur in all weather conditions (except for extreme hot/cold or deep snow or icy conditions). Training sessions will be available. Once you are an approved volunteer, you will be sent a calendar to sign up for playtime shifts. We only allow two playtime volunteers per shift, so when signing up via our online calendar, please respect that.

❤️ Ready to adopt this beautiful girl? Trixie #25 is a 5-year-old Golden that arrived from a breeder. She is quite fearful and darts away when approached, and she is a flight risk. She loves other dogs and needs a home with a mentor dog to help her adjust. Once she knows you, she enjoys gentle petting and attention. She’ll need a patient adopter who will give her plenty of time to build trust and confidence.

🐾 Thinking about adopting? Chief is a 6-year-old Lab that was surrendered by his previous owner. He's a smart dog with great obedience skills. He loves to run and chase tennis balls and will need plenty of exercise. He has a prey drive, so no cats for him, and he'll need a careful match if there is another dog in the household. Chief will also need a lot of mental stimulation.
