Peaches is the ultimate napping queen! Though she enjoys walks, toys and play time, this girl is a professional lounge machine. Floor? Fine. Couch? Great. Bed? The best! Whether she is sun bathing on the patio or snuggled up in the blankets, this girl is looking for sidekick of her own! Want someone to binge watch your fav Netflix shows and scroll through Tiktok with you? Peaches may just be the girl for you.

Welcome to our 14th Annual Pet Memorial Sunday event, L. Rodgers!

L. is a songwriter and singer from Baltimore, MD.

You may recognize her from Team Reba on Season 25 of the Voice where she was the recipient of the coveted Playoff Pass and made the Top 12 Live Shows.

We are so excited that L. reached out to us to share that she had recently experienced the loss of her beloved dog, Riley, and she wanted to join us to honor and celebrate Riley by singing at our event.

Buttons spent 165 days at our shelter before finding his perfect match. He's clearly hit the jackpot with his new family!

"Hello Baltimore Humane Society! I am sorry for the delay in updating you on the adoption of Buttons. We have decided to call him Buddy - because he is everyone’s buddy! Buddy has adjusted to our home well and we couldn’t be happier with this guy! He has met a lot of his human family members. Loves to go for rides in Dad’s truck. Loves walks in the neighborhood and even went to Codorus to check out the lake! His personality is starting to show and his silly goofy side. We just adore him!! We bought a doggie pool for him but that is kind of scary right now because it’s not like the pool he was used to. In time I hope he learns to love his new pool. He had his first vet appointment and did great! He even got to eat peanut butter while he was getting checked out. That was his favorite part of the visit! I have attached some pictures of Buddy in his new home. Like I said we couldn’t be happier! He is such a good sweet boy!! Thank you for all you do. - Denise"

Lorenzo is a goofy, fun loving boy who loves to explore and loves to be in the spotlight!
Lorenzo was transferred to BHS from one of our rescue partners who came into their care as a stray. This boy will make you laugh! He's only 2 years but already knows some commands and is ready to learn (peep him in his back to school outfit). Lorenzo also made an appearance on WJZ 13 and was the life of the party.
Lorenzo is neutered, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and current on his vaccines. The shelter is open Mondays 12-4pm, and Tues-Sun from 12-5pm for visitations!

Join us from 9 AM – 1 PM at our shelter (1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown) for the Supersized Adoption Event with BARCS Animal Shelter, Baltimore County Animal Services, Baltimore Humane Society (us), and Maryland SPCA.

Adoption fees are waived for all cats and dogs thanks to NBC Universal Clear the Shelters and the campaign — the perfect chance to meet your match and take them home the same day.

🐾 Dive into puppy fun at the annual Doggie Paddle! 🐾

Grab your pup—because on Tuesday, September 2, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, the Middle Mill Social Pool in Owings Mills (9700 Middle Mill Drive) turns into a canine paradise! It’s the Owings Mills New Town Community Association, Inc.– Doggie Paddle 2025.

Tickets are $20 at the door per family, and 100% of the proceeds go straight to help the furry residents at the Baltimore Humane Society. The raindate is Wednesday, September 3.
