UPDATE MICROCHIPS!

I received a call on Tuesday from a microchip company saying that they found my dog in Placer County. However, it wasn’t Harper.

Booker was a puppy that I fostered in 2010-2011 and then adopted out. His owners never updated his microchip to add their information and when they rehomed him in 2012 or 2013, the new owners didn’t update either.

I waited out the stray hold just in case this 12 year old dog somehow made a run for it, but his owners never came to get him. He’s full of tumors, has some horribly long nails, and looks semi-neglected but is an overall HAPPY boy.

My very best rescue friend, Jamie, pulled him on Friday with the assistance of Sacramento Independent Animal Rescuers (SIAR) and held onto him until we could make it today.

Booker will now live out whatever golden years he has left with us in Reno. 💜

Please make sure your microchip information is always up-to-date! Many people forget to update them with new information or even register them to begin with.

This is NOT Harper. I spoke with an amazingly nice lady this morning and she offered to re-scan Juliet for a microchip and check for Harper’s spay tattoo. Unfortunately the dog isn’t chipped or spayed (yet).
If anyone in Northern California is looking for a Malinois, maybe go take a look at this gorgeous gal. 💜

Six whole months. Half of a year. Twenty-six weeks.

It really doesn’t seem like that long, especially in Covid-time. However, it feels like an eternity has passed since I have snuggled with her, played her favorite game of tug, adventured somewhere new with her in tow, watched her annoy her brother with her antics.

Harper is out there somewhere and I will not give up until she is home. Please continue to help me look for her; I need all the help I can get.

I have come to realize that my biggest moments of despair regarding Harper come after I have an intense amount of hope. It’s like being stuck on a rollercoaster that never ends and there’s no way off. I try to never become too hopeful because I know it makes the letdown hurt even more, but this week has definitely gotten the best of me.

Just in this week I have searched the desert for canine bones, received huge amounts of support from folks in the community, had more flyers printed, and received info about two different mals being found in the surrounding area.

It’s now time to recharge with some ice cream, Huxley snuggles, some ugly crying, and a few murder shows.

Another month has passed and my munchkin is still not home, but I’m still looking for her. There is still a CASH reward ...
