Murphy may seem small now but we’re starting training early to do some confidence building to prep for the real-world and also starting basic obedience training. He is a bit on the apprehensive side so it will be fun to watch this guy grow into the confident Golden I know he can be 🐕❤️

It’s Hamiltons birthday! 🎉🎈Hamilton is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is the absolute sweetest boy 💕 As a professional trainer, I always highly recommend this breed to anyone looking for a fantastic family dog! Here is a breed description from the AKC:

“The Cavalier's all-around beauty, regal grace, and even temper mark him as one of dogdom's noblemen. A toy spaniel no more than 13 inches high, the Cavalier draws you in with his face: The sweet, gentle, melting expression emanating from large, round eyes is a breed hallmark. Another is the silky, richly colored coat that can be one of four distinct varieties. Cavaliers may be aristocrats, but they gladly descend from their royal high horse for a backyard frolic or a squirrel chase. They get along nicely with children and other dogs. Adaptable Cavaliers do equally well with active owners and homebodies'they can be upbeat athletes or shameless couch potatoes, depending on an owner's lifestyle.”

Thank you to Bonanza Kennel Club for the lovely event this weekend. I was only able to trial one day but we did fantastic! Quest and I earned our BN Title, TKA Title and a Q for our first leg in Rally Excellent.

So far this year has been absolutely amazing in every single way. Quest and I have met our goals for the year in sports and exceeded my expectations. Anything after this will be extra for us and I’m looking forward to it!

Nala and her owner are doing a great job of practicing working on this little game that they will play at home to work on commands and simultaneously work on not jumping up on people. Dogs like to jump up when they’re excited but in Nala’s case, she could hurt members of their family by jumping (and shes only going to get bigger) so this is a behavior we want to stop. #renotahoedogs #dogtok #dogtraining #renodogtraining #renodogs #dogtrainingtips

I’m really proud of Carl and his owner for doing their homework! Reactivity isn’t easy and a lot of it is showing up to put in the work around the problem areas (like parks!). If you avoid it, you’ll never get better at it. Pro Tip: Distance is your friend when working on new behaviors. Try to find areas that are new but you can get far enough away from triggers. It’s not always easy and some situations just have to be managed. Don’t be hard on yourself or your dog if your training plan didn’t go exactly the way you wanted.
