Boots was rescued from a neglectful situation by Martina. She was referred to Options Veterinary Care after taking him to a specialist after recommendations of an enucleation (removal) of his right eye. At 9 years old, Boots had not been neutered as one of his testicles never descended! Dr. Brad L. performed both surgeries and Boots was very happy to go home healthy and ready to take on new adventures, and Martina was able to pay for both surgeries due to our affordable costs!

Say hello to Lobito, a 3-year-old Pomeranian mix. This sweet pup had a possible injury to his back legs. His Dad, Miguel, took him to an emergency vet but surgery was too expensive, so he reached out to Options Veterinary Care. When he came to our nonprofit clinic, Dr. Amorati suspected IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) and discussed various treatments and care for it. Lobito seemed to be doing well now that he had some time to recover from the injury, so Dr. Brad didn't feel he needed immediate surgery. He gave Miguel advice on managing his physical care as well as some pain meds and will see Lobito again in a few weeks for a recheck.

It's thanks to your support that we can offer affordable services, giving Lobito the care he needs. ❤

Options is desperately trying to raise $40,000 for pets like Spanky. ❤️ Will you donate $10 to help us help them? 📣

Spanky, a nine-year-old dog, was attacked by another dog and injured on the face. It swelled up and abscessed, needing urgent veterinary care. Spanky's parents, Richard and Sherry, are low-income; they couldn't save up for his care in such a short time. Spanky also needed to be neutered, so when he came in, Dr. Brad treated his abscess and did the neuter. While the family did qualify for some financial aid, they still have a balance owed of $341. This is exactly why we need to raise $40,000—so that we can directly help pets like Spanky.

If every one of you gave $10, we could make a HUGE impact. Will you help us... help them? ❤️ 🙏 Donate online at the link or mail a check to Options Veterinary Care, 4690 Longley Lane, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502. THANK YOU in advance. ❤🐾

Gypsy is a sweet black cat who was attacked by a dog. Her person, Eddy, reached out to Options Veterinary Care when she began limping. X-rays revealed Gypsy’s leg was broken, so Dr. Brad fixed her leg, then splinted it to help reduce pain, swelling, and further damage. Gypsy now needs several weeks of recovery, and between her initial surgery, plus her follow-up care, the total bill is reaching $1,400. Eddy is a senior and on a limited income, so he is struggling to cover the medical cost, and could use your help.

Will you donate to help us cover medical care for Gypsy? For seniors who have no other options and whose pets wouldn’t otherwise receive veterinary care, Options is a lifeline—and your donations enable us to be that lifeline. Please, donate online using the button below or mail a check to Options Veterinary Care, 4690 Longley Lane, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502. THANK YOU for caring and for your kindness!

Exciting news! 😻 Today Options is holding a Spay Day for rescue cats and kittens from Argonn (Animal Rescue Group of Northern Nevada), FAWG Fallon Animal Welfare Group, The Biggest Little Cat Rescue, and Plumas Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Our nonprofit clinic is spaying 35 adorable kittens, then they'll go back to their respective rescue groups for adoption. Rural rescues have limited access to veterinary care, and we're so happy we can help them to make this giant multi-community impact!

Dani and Red belong to a very nice elderly gentleman, Lloyd. They are seen here with his younger brother.

Lloyd reached out to Options nonprofit clinic asking for help. He explained in an email that he rescued a female border collie several years ago, then, a year later, a male border collie, when his neighbors moved and could not take him. They said he was neutered, but to Lloyd's surprise, that was incorrect, because recently they had nine puppies! Lloyd found homes for all of them except one, a little female. He let us know he is 78 years old and cannot keep them separated, is on a fixed income, and has health challenges of his own that he has to pay for. He said that his "furbabies play all day on opposite sides of a fence and they want to play together so bad so please help me get the boy neutered." Lloyd offered to give whatever he could each month to help offset the cost and signed off with a touching sentiment.

Lloyd's story, desire to do the right thing, and kind heart really resonated with our entire team. We spayed Dani and Red last week, and will be spaying his other female soon. His current balance is $667.25, so now we ask you to help us cover this cost. Donate online at the link below or mail a check to Options Veterinary Care, 4690 Longley Lane, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502. THANK YOU for caring and for your kindness! ❤

Every day pets like Buck get help at Options, pets who otherwise would suffer without care.

We're trying to raise $40,000 in 30 days... but we're not seeing the donations we desperately need. 🚨 Please, donate $10 *right now* to make a lifesaving difference for local dogs and cats! 📣

Prices for everything are increasing, especially for drugs and medical supplies. We can't help pets like Buck without help from you.

While many businesses pass rising costs along to their clients, Options clients are primarily low-income seniors, people living with disabilities or struggling with homelessness, or people supporting their families through a low-wage job. They come to Options because they cannot afford needed vet care for their beloved furry companions.

Every sick or injured pet deserves treatment even if their person cannot afford the care they need. ❤️ If every one of you gave $10, we could make a HUGE impact. Our community needs us. YOU might need us one day. Will you give $10 right now? 🙏

Every pet matters. Help us help them. Donate online at the link or mail a check to Options Veterinary Care, 4690 Longley Lane, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502. THANK YOU in advance. ❤🐾

When collaboration saves lives. ❤

These kittens were transferred from Washoe County Regional Animal Services to Options Veterinary Care for medical needs. They were spayed and neutered, vaccinated, received a panleukopenia test, and checked for ringworm (all negative). Once they were ready, the SPCA of Northern Nevada took them into their adoption program, where they all found loving homes right away.

It's thanks to your support that Options can help homeless kittens while simultaneously being there for fellow animal organizations. It takes a village, so thank you for being part of our village!

We need a veterinarian! Can you share to help us find one? 📣

Options Veterinary Care is seeking a full or part-time experienced vet to provide quality, affordable veterinary care to pets who would otherwise suffer without it. We are a nonprofit clinic, with a collaborative, professional environment where time and expertise are valued. We encourage work/life balance and schedules are flexible. There are no night, weekend, on-call or emergency shifts, and no expectations to upsell products. Compensation and benefits are competitive. The clinic opened in 2020 and is fully equipped with diagnostic and dental equipment as well as a surgical suite. To see the full job description, click the link below! P.S. We are so thankful for Petco Love! They are sponsoring one person from selected nonprofits (Options Veterinary Care is SO grateful to be one!) to receive free training to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) through Penn Foster. This is a huge deal because there is a shortage of LVTs, and vet staff in general, nationwide! Abby is a rising star in our vet assistant team and very enthusiastic for this opportunity! Help us say THANKS to Petco Love! ❤🐶😺🎉

Shares, please! 📣 We *urgently* need fosters for about 11 cats and kittens! Can you help for a few weeks or more? If so, email [email protected] to find out more and get involved!

The cats are mixed in ages, looks, and personalities. Many are more on the shy side, so socialization will be important. Most are relatively healthy. All will benefit from some TLC. If you can open your heart and home for a few weeks, YOU will make a lifesaving difference!

Options will provide guidance, support, and medical care, and placement when they are ready, whether in an adoptive home or transfer to a shelter or rescue.

If you can help or want to find out more, let us know, and please, share this with your friends! ❤😺

Will you help us raise $40,000 to help local dogs and cats right now? ⬇🙏

Anna, a cute senior dog, was diagnosed with Pyometra (a potentially life-threatening uterine infection) at another clinic, and her owners were quoted thousands of dollars for surgery. When they couldn’t afford it, they reached out to Options nonprofit clinic. We were able to get Anna in the following day at a dramatically reduced cost. The surgery was just in the nick of time to save Anna’s life! Part of her uterus had ruptured, and the infection would have spread through her body without prompt surgery and antibiotics!

Thankfully, Anna is doing much better and at home with the people who love her. ❤

While many businesses pass along the rising costs of supplies and staffing to their clients, Options cannot do that. Our clients are primarily low-income seniors, people living with disabilities, individuals struggling with homelessness, or people supporting their families through a low-wage job. They come to Options because they can't afford vet care for their beloved companions anywhere else.

Will you help local dogs like Anna right now? 🐶

Your donation will help Options treat sick and injured pets who would otherwise suffer. Donate online (link below) or mail a check to Options Veterinary Care, 4690 Longley Lane, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502. THANK YOU for caring and for your kindness! ❤
