Meet Frolick, a wonderful companion belonging to our veterinary assistant, Bri! He’s an 8 year old man who has traveled across the country 3 times with his mom. He’s a homebody and gets very nervous around strangers. He likes screaming at 3am with his stuffed animals in his mouth and snuggling with his sister Freya. He’ll also do anything for a little treat.

Our team got together to learn about hands-free radiology, and Baxter was the perfect patient to show exactly how easy it is to achieve! The goal of hands-free is to allow the operator to increase their distance from the x-ray source during exposure. Distance is the key to exposure reduction, but we do not have to go very far to get a significant reduction in exposure. A few steps away are significant.

With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.

Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.

If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

Meet Gus, a perfect 2 year old Australian Shepherd, belonging to our wonderful veterinary assistant lead Jenny! He has been coming to work since he was 8 weeks old and loves working with his mom. He disagrees that he’s a large dog, firmly believing he is a lap dog and taking any chance to sit on someone. He enjoys playing with other dogs and going on different adventures, usually leading the way. He is also an excellent model and doesn’t miss an opportunity to pose for the camera. 📸
