Ideal candidate has 3-5 years of dog grooming experience and can handle 4-6 bath and haircut appointments per day. Knowledge of breed standard grooms and patterns- Mainly Schnauzer, Setter and Springer breeds, etc.!

We are looking for a kind and compassionate professional pet stylist to add to our gentle energy here at Midtown Mutts. We have a combined experience of about 30 years! Our team adores being creative (color and carving!), and we’re always learning!

Must be available Saturday thru Tuesday 🐾

🐾 Attention all pet parents! 🐾 (Content warning below!)

Did you know that maintaining your furry friend's coat isn't just about aesthetics? It's crucial for their health and well-being too! Here's why:

🌟 Matted Coats: Severe matting isn't just uncomfortable for your pet, it's downright risky! Mats can trap moisture, dirt, and even pests like fleas, leading to skin irritation, infections, bruising and discomfort. Plus, they restrict airflow, potentially causing overheating, and can hide critical health problems like weight loss, overgrown nails, hidden foxtails and thorns, and more!

🐶 Daily Brushing: Some breeds with longer coats, like Poodles, doodles, shih tzus, etc - require daily brushing to prevent matting and keep their coats healthy and shiny. This simple task can go a long way in preventing painful tangles and mats.
*** Also note that bathing and swimming without blow drying and brushing out every time can cause some pretty severe and tight tangles! If your pup enjoys water play, consider a shorter, easier to maintain haircut for their benefit! 🏖

🗓️ Scheduled Desheds: Other breeds, such as Huskies and German Shepherds, shed seasonally and benefit from scheduled deshedding appointments (about every 8-10 weeks). Regular deshedding helps remove loose fur and reduces the risk of matting during heavy shedding periods.

✂️ Shaving Severe Matting: When mats become too severe, shaving may be necessary. While it's not ideal (WORST part of our day!), it's often the safest and most humane option to alleviate your pet's discomfort and prevent further skin issues.

As dog groomers, we prioritize your pet's comfort and health above all else. Our expert groomers are here to provide the care and attention your furry friend deserves, ensuring they look and feel their best. Remember, a little grooming goes a long way in keeping your pet happy and healthy! 🐶💖

✨ Check out this puppy transformation! This was her first full haircut- thankfully she had a bit of previous experience in grooming salon and it made it so much easier for her!

🐶Did you know? Puppies are ready to join us in the salon after they receive their rabies shot (around 16 weeks old). Be sure to keep up on brushing after baths, and holding their feet/face before then! 🐾 From there, after a few practice visits for a bath and face/feet/fanny tidy, we can attempt to begin those first full grooms!

It can be scary jumping into a big haircut right away, we love to start slow and gentle with these little ones to set them up for success! 🏆
