Here is some good information when it comes to keeping snakes off the property.

Products bought at stores claiming to keep snakes away do not work and any company pushing them are simply taking your money.
We can disprove any product with our own snakes.

The most reliable and effective way is to install snake fencing. If THAT doesn't work it was installed by someone that didn't know how to do it correctly, or it may need maintenance.

As spring approaches, we want to bust a few myths.

Have you been told that you can put products such as Snake Away out in your yard and snakes won't come near it? Unfortunately, this is just something told to consumers to sell products. This western diamondback rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox) agrees with us!

Similarily, using mothballs outside doesn't work to deter snakes either. In fact, it is illegal to use mothballs outdoors, and they can be harmful to your pets and children.

The Rattlesnake Conservancy encourages people to co-exist with snakes and live harmoniously. However, we also recognize that those who have concerns about pets and children may be interested in ways to reduce the chances of encountering snakes in their home and yard. We have added 2 additional dates/locations for March:

* March 23rd - Grass Valley, CA!!! Happy to get back there with a new host 😄
* March 27th - Tehachapi, CA. Brand new location for us, hope to see some new faces there

John and I are waking from hibernation and working on getting dates for the 2025 season scheduled.
**Actually, even in the off season we have been non-stop on the go caring for animals, and trying to keep up with Johns new journey in the world of acting**

In the meantime, you can catch us at the upcoming Nevada Premier Sportsman Expo in Reno March 14th - 16th.
We will have a variety of our reptiles on display, be on hand to answer questions, and will be doing some training demos as well.

It is no secret that we didn't hold as many clinics this year, largely in part to the extreme heat we endured this summer.

So in an attempt to make sure your dogs are well protected, we will be scheduling as many private, at-home training classes as we can over the next week, and if the weather hold, maybe a little longer.

We are honoring the same clinic rates this year, only adding a small set up fee per location so you can easily split this up between your friends, family and neighbors who join in!

So if you are interested in having your dog trained or the training reinforced, please send us a PM with the following information:

We were extremely saddened to hear about the passing of one of our long time supporters & class hosts, Randall Rector.

We will continue to provide classes in Jerome, Idaho with the High Desert Pointing Dog Club as they've shared how big of an impact these classes have had on the success of their club, but it definitely won't be the same without him!

RIP Randall, thank you for years of friendship and believing in us. You will be missed so much.
