Reaching out to help a little animal that is not so lucky and needs a home, whether you actually foster or donate to help cover expenses of medical, foster & grooming is an act of kindness that comes from your heart.

Foster homes are an incredibly valuable assets for rescues.
This year the Humane Society decided to change their policy of working toward “no kill.” They have become extremely selective as to the animals they pull into their program. That leaves a number of animals behind which Animal Services feels are highly adoptable if only given a second chance. Here’s where the small rescues play a large part. But only if fosters are available. Please consider becoming a foster, foster to adopt or adopting from a rescue in our community. If you can’t foster, please donate as spay/neuter and care for fosters is extremely expensive.

We are so grateful for your support as we continue to work to find loving homes for dogs that have been overlooked by society. This is especially true of senior dogs. Right now we could use your help with some of the most needed supplies including:
Stella and chewy meal mixers, duck
Rachael Ray Chicken and vegetable little bites in small bags

Update Nov 2024: Playful Bear is still searching for his forever home. He was found as a stray and microchipped but his family never came for him. He’s estimated to be 2 years old, 15 pounds, healthy, neutered, vaccinated and a Bichon Poodle mix. Located in Reno, NV. For the adoption application please text us at:

🌱 Fenced yard as he loves to play fetch and run
🥾 going on walks
🧠 enriching and working on commands (knows how to sit!)
🧍‍♀️ Older family members (12+)

He is especially good with women. He would love to go on hikes, take rides in the car and what would really make his day (or night) is if he could snuggle up with you in bed.

🦵 Back left leg suffered a previous injury. Going on walks is not advised.
🔟 About 6 years old and about 10 pounds

Someone interested in helping us socialize Dutch would really be appreciated. We will Also consider a foster home for him.

Elizabeth: Age 8, spayed female, orange and white. She's vaccinated and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Her story? She was very sick several weeks ago when Washoe County Regional Animal Services asked us to take her before her hold period was over to provide urgent vet care. Now, she's healthy, adorable as ever, and ready for adoption! She can be shy at first meeting and needs a short while to adjust to new surroundings, but she loves to be pet, a good classical playlist on Spotify, and will be your loyal companion if you will have her.

Willie is fitting in perfectly in his foster-to-adopt home! We saved this amazing boy from a shelter in California in mid-February. He had been attacked by a dog and was hiding under a strangers patio furniture for over a week before he was able to be taken to the shelter.

He’ll now have a home with a senior pup and a wonderful family. We are so happy for you, Willie!

Adoption Alert, LEO! So happy to share Leo’s adoption is finalized! This sweet boy was found as a stray and never reclaimed. After a visit to the vet, we learned he was only about 2 years old. His new family loves him very much and have had several poms over the years. So happy for Leo and his new family! ❤️

Yoda!

Look at Yoda! So happy and so full of life. She was passed over to go to the shelter, meaning without a rescue taking her, she would no longer be here. Thanks to our founder, Sara, Yoda is safe, loved and will spend the rest of her days comfortable and happy.

Look at Foxy go! He’s working so hard and being so brave and building confidence! When we pulled him from the shelter they said he was very shut down and asked if we still wanted him. Of course we did! He is a very good boy and a big thank you to BarkSide Dog Training and Joshua for all of this wonderful work with Foxy. The amazing Joshua from BarkSide Dog Training came to work with Foxy this morning. Foxy is a good boy (not aggressive) but very shut down. We aren’t sure of Foxy’s past but we will keep working with him to help him build confidence. Even through this eval with BarkSide, we could see him making small steps and progress. ❤️

All the amazing dogs are on their way from California to Reno! For Pets’ Sake is taking in 5 dogs while Res-Que & Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows, Inc are also taking dogs as part of this transport. Safe travels, little ones! ❤️
