The pups and supplies are dropped off. We got to see Drifter, Scarlet, and Foxy before we left. We are on our way back to Indiana to catch a hotel for a couple days.

Tomorrow I will be sorting out available puppies from Foxy litter, I should have a few available.

Under pretty certain terms I am done breeding. Maybe some day I’ll feel moved to carry on. I feel it’s the most respectful to the ones I lost. If anyone wants a pup from me, now’s the time 🫶🏻

I don’t know why some of you choose to incessantly demand to know the cause of the fire, we don’t know. It wasn’t arson but it is under investigation.

From this point forward anyone being negative and nosey will be blocked. I finally went and seen the destruction along with a pile of bodies in my yard.

I will NEVER let myself off the hook for this. I will NEVER forget every single precious life lost. I didn’t just loose 43 kids, the breed lost some magnificent dogs that were the last of their line.

So please take your self righteous inconsiderate comments elsewhere because if you think you’re sad for the horrible death of these furkids, you can’t even comprehend what I feel.

We are back to Indiana, have the pups loaded up and going back to our property to load up as much supplies and dog stuff as we can fit in the truck to take to Marie’s to take care of the kids.

Thank you to my aunt, uncle, and cousins for taking care of the pups for us and spoiling Kirby bean the last couple days 🫶🏻

These 3 are all settled in at Warrior’s Legacy Alaskan Malamutes. I hope Marie knows how much it means to my family that she could help our kids while we sort through what remains of our past life. My priority still remains the dogs through all this. Marie was my first call when emergency services called us. Anyone that knows me knows I don’t ask for help but I called her pleading (unnecessarily of course). My first thought always has and will be these fur kids.

I could spend days making posts thanking everyone one by one. The way people have and are stepping up and offering help is humbling and overwhelming. We have such a long way to go, not knowing next steps and where to turn. Please continue to pray for us.

One of my puppy pawrents turned closest friend has organized a go fund me for us to try to help with this tremendous burden. I will link it below for anyone who feels led to help. 🙏🏼

The shock is wearing off as the hours go by and my entire body is in so much physical pain I can hardly bare it. All night dog by dog popped into my head and the physical pain I feel in my heart is like nothing I’ve felt before. The 3 remaining adults, my husband, and I stayed with a friend of my dad’s last night. They had their dinner and besides knowing how devastated we are and being a pillow to cry/scream into they have no idea what is going on.

We are leaving in a few minutes to take the adults to Michigan then will be coming back to my family’s house that has the puppies to get them and then to my house to get as much food and bedding as I can haul to take up with the puppies.

Marie Kool with Warrior’s Legacy Malamutes will be taking my puppies and adults until I have stable housing to take them back. While giving my survivors up is making me nauseas, I know I will not have to worry about them one bit in her care.

An added layer of devastation is the phone calls I had to make last night to tell people with reserved pups that perished what happened. As well as 4 of the dogs I had I was simply fostering to help out people need.

It is with an absolute shattered heart I must share while I was at the vet tonight with Foxy and her litter my house caught fire and we lost all of our adult dogs with the exception of Foxy, Drift, and Scarlet. We also lost all of Poppy and Mooshie’s puppies.

I don’t have many words right now, I would have just assumed burned up with them. My remaining adults and puppies are safe for the night and we will begin moving them to Michigan tomorrow where they will be cared for and safe. We are homeless and devastated I have contacted most of my puppy parents. Once I sort out replacement pups the very last of moot manor malamutes pups will need to be placed.

My dream died today with 23 adult dogs and 20 puppies. I had everyone in for these negative temps to stay warm. These dogs are built for this weather but I’m all about giving them more in this life.

Thank you everyone for supporting me in this truly terrible time 😭

Came across this infographic and thought I’d share. This is what your vet is feeling for when he so “unfairly” calls your fluffy pet overweight.

I see it all the time, people posting pictures of their malamutes saying “My vet thinks my dog is overweight but they’re just fluffy” or “the vet doesn’t know what they’re talking about malamutes are bulky dogs”. This way of determining BCS is something EVERY dog owner should be familiar with. You should be managing and adjusting your dogs food intake periodically to maintain your dogs ideal condition. And if your dog is a hard keeper, find the right food, I promise you there is something out there that will work. Every food feeds every dog differently.

It is not abuse to manage your dogs body condition but it is abuse to allow your dog to become obese. Obese dogs are miserable dogs.

They will be ready in a couple weeks. I expect them to be over 120lbs at maturity. All of them are wooly (long coat). They already had their first vet visit and will have their second with vax before leaving. Had their first dose of Sentinel Spectrum (heatworm/intestinal parasites/flea) as well.

Vet visit went well for Poppy’s crew. No issues found on exam, and all were vaccinated. First dose of sentinel will be given tomorrow.

Little Chuck will be seeing an ophthalmologist to make sure his eye will be okay after the scratch.

These babes will be ready in 3 weeks and are gonna be big, don’t miss out!

Every day with these 2. Besties for the resties. Banks has about 90lbs on her and forgets that 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Periodic exposure matters 🗣️🗣️🗣️ Look at Banks playing with the rubber curry comb without a care in the world. 🥰 I constantly see “oh my malamute won’t let me….” You can insert brush, wash, blow out, clip nails. It’s all about exposure! Brush your dog frequently from the time you bring them home (even if they’re a short coat). Clip their nails routinely from the time they come home, and if they don’t need cut, fine just mess with their feet regularly. If your pup is a wooly, get them on a schedule with a groomer. A dog should not dictate your lives in such ways but they will if you wait until they’re 100+lbs of noise and warning air chomps.
