Alot of people have been asking questions as to the accident on our farm so I feel we should address the questions. Around 1130pm last night something got into the pasture (we assume coyotes). We had 4 horses in one paddock and they spooked and destroyed the fence and ran out on the highway. We were running out to get them within seconds and a car came through and collided with 2 of them killing them instantly. A 3rd was struck by one of the deceased and caused a complete fracture of his Cannon bone and had to be dispatched by our vet. No one was hurt physically. The driver of the car admitted to not be looking at the road and never tried to stop. Broc was in the road trying to move them in while McKenzie and I were running out when it happened. I don't wish this on any horse owner or parent. My heart goes out to the 16 and 17 year old that had to witness that. No child should have to see that. Our children had to witness something that made our rough and tough veterinarian bawl. I don't wish this on anyone. Thank you to everyone that has offered help and stepped up to help us pick up the pieces of this tragic night.
