AnimaLovers merges with Whiskers Summer 2024!

We are thrilled to announce some exciting news! Whiskers and AnimaLovers, two incredible organizations dedicated to rescuing and advocating for cats in need, have agreed to merge. This merger marks a significant milestone in our collective mission to make a positive impact in the lives of homeless, abandoned, and abused cats in the New York Capital Region.

Whiskers and AnimaLovers share a common vision of providing comfort, safety, and care to cats in need, and ultimately finding them loving forever homes. By combining our resources, we believe we can amplify our efforts and help even more cats in need within our community. As we move forward with this exciting new chapter, we look forward to your continued support and involvement.

10y+ Karloff and Lugosi had their dentals this week. Karloff had all of his teeth removed. Lugosi had most of them removed. Their mouths are tender but in a few weeks they should be healed and pain free. We collected about $500 total. The bill is over $2000. Thank you to those that help these senior strays get off the streets.

We brought six cats with us, some of which have been looking for homes for many months.

All six were adopted yesterday!

Our PetSmart East Greenbush adoption clinic will be closed this weekend. We will be at Curtis Limber PetA Palooza in Ballston Spa on Saturday. We will be back open Monday evening 6-8pm. Happy Fathers Day. Take your Dad for an ice cream.

It’s Hug Your Cat Day! If you don’t have one or two we have this senior pair at our PetSmart East Greenbush adoption clinic. We are open Wednesday 6-8pm.

Lala (calico, 12 years old) and Midge (tortie, 9 years old) were surrendered to AnimaLovers when their beloved owner passed away. They are both very friendly, love people, and get along with cats. No dogs please! They must be adopted together, Lala cries if she can't find Midge! Cats 10y+ have no adoption fee, under 10y is $125.

Midge's sister Cinnamon is also available for adoption, if you are interested in keeping all 3 girls together!

Cinnamon - a 9 year old tortie - was surrendered to AnimaLovers when her beloved owner passed away. She is very friendly, loves people, and gets along with cats. No dogs.

Nine month old Lucy and Leo were rescued living under a shed. They are shy at first and can get overwhelmed in large spaces. A quiet home without kids would be best. They would like to be adopted together or with another cat in the home. They should be isolated at first until she feels comfortable in their new home. She loves attention. Lucy will climb in your lap when comfortable. Leo loves string toys. They will both follow her favorite person around. They are currently in a foster home. Lugosi and Karloff (g/w) are 10+year old strays that have been identified with severe dental disease and suffering on the streets trying to eat. Both of their mouths smelled horrible and were infected. They both had exam, bloodwork, antibiotics and vaccines. Taking care of senior cats is expensive. AnimaLovers does not charge an adoption fee for seniors in hopes of finding them a home. They are both scheduled for a dentals soon. If you can help, please donate. You can also call the vet directly, East Greenbush Animal Hospital. Karloff is having his procedure first. We have a video in the comments of him trying to eat. Thank you

Meet 1 year old Fluffernutter. She came to AnimaLovers with 5 other cats from a household that was unable to care for them. She was a hot mess with fleas and diarrhea which all had been resolved. She still has some minor congestion even after numerous medicines. She will sneeze on occasion. It may be allergies? She is a love bug and likes to rub her face all over yours. She is playful. She is fine with other cats. She is currently in a foster home, visit www.animalovers.org/adopt.
