We are currently out of supply of PG600! No there are no other brands of product that will be a source of the PMSG that we find in PG600. In small ruminants this product is commonly used to allow does that are not cycling to come into estrous (or heat). Does that are already cycling will come into heat in a synchronized fashion with the CIDR and a prostaglandin injection (Lutalyse or Estrumate) given one or two days prior to the CIDR pull and do not require PG600. I will let you know about any other effective methods to cycle anestrous (out of season or not cycling) does.
We have now been told that the supply may not return until the end of the year.

Today was FLUSH day!

We were stoked to have the opportunity to flush to a buck that needs no introduction at all …Tall towers “Blue on Black”!

Attention to everyone who is flushing goats in the next couple of months. Please watch this video. Three things you need to know...
1. It is possible to freeze leftover Folltropin.
2. Add both bottles of supplied diluent to each bottle of freeze dried FSH.
3. Decrease the first four doses of FSH by 0.1-0.2 ml in order to ensure that you will have enough to finish out your dosage. So the shots will go 1.8, 1.8, 1.3 , 1.3, 1, 1, 0.5, 0.5 ml. This is especially if you have small or young does.

Great visual for all of our Ruminant clients. Remember that it takes carbohydrate in the form of grain or early season pasture to create rumen development.

This series of photos from PennState illustrates the process of rumen development in dairy calves.

Calves must transition from a simple-stomached animal that digests milk to a ruminant that digests solid feed. The goal is to have a more fully developed rumen before weaning calves off milk. By feeding starter and a little roughage before calves are weaned, they are better prepared (rumen is more developed) to digest the nutrients of solid food once it becomes their sole food source. Promoting rumen development before weaning is key to ensuring the calf is ready to transition to solid feed without experiencing a lag in growth.

Ensuring calves have fully developed rumens sets them up for success.
