H Litter vom Ozarkforst is due June 17th. Chaco (Fern) vom Ozarkforst and Flink vom Mooshaus. I am taking deposits for both males and females. Both of these dogs have super demeanors and hunt a lot. They are wonderful family dogs. They are on the mid to smaller size for drahthaars. Both are F/F gene for their beard so all will have nice beards.

It takes incredible people to make the Drahthaar an amazing breed. Lynn Levangood bought a puppy from me 5 years ago with a commitment to run all three tests and breed one litter. He was a first time handler. He proceeded to do all three tests and entered a very small group of Americans to complete the VGP. G Litter vom Ozarkforst is a testament to him. I could not have done it without him and his wife. As I watch this litter I am confident that he helped make this breed better.

G Litter got imprinted with quail this morning. Little guys grabbed them and carried them around. I have two available.

Eddie vom Ozarkforst out training in the plains of Oklahoma at 2 years old. This kind of pointing and he can blood track and do all the retrieving for waterfowl. This is a versatile breed.

Puppies are getting around now and eating softened dog food. Teeth coming in and getting really cute. All the dogs have tight coats. I still have a couple available.

We were out training pointing, steady to wing and flush, and shot today at Ozarkforst kennels with E and F litter pups. G litter is over 3 weeks old today.

Crown-Diva has arrived with a week to go before she gives birth and Lynn brought me a cool mug and some awesome honey. Puppies will be here soon.

Announcing G Litter vom Ozarkforst will arrive around July 28. This breeding is between Crown-Diva vom Ozarkforst and Cyrus vom Flooded Timber. Puppy pick up would be late September. These two dogs do lots of upland and waterfowl in the Dakotas and Nebraska.

Putting 9 month old Via on a great deer shot to learn what it is to track blood. Learning to focus on the blood and not the other scents that were there which were other deer and turkey.

Owner of F Litter Puppy at 8 months old:

“Took Pyper over to South Dakota last weekend for the pheasant opener. 1st day she was learning. Found 3 birds we would never had gotten. She was pointing and tracking by day 2. Day 3 she was a force to be reckoned with. She pointed out 6 birds in the first hour and was retrieving to us. She has 18 roosters under her belt. We only shot pheasants she pointed or bumped. We let the wild flushes go. She was amazing!!!”

Cowboy v. Roter Erde learning how to track to find the rabbit. It’s important to let the puppy work things out as long as they are staying with it. This was super progress for this young dog. Lots of great tracking today at Ozarkforst Kennels training day.

Rabbit Tracking for Puppies

Cowboy v. Roter Erde learning how to find the rabbit by tracking. Great example of letting the dog work and not helping. Allow them to figure things out as long as they are working at it.

Retriever Training at 9 weeks old.

Retrieving with Via at 9 weeks old. Do 3-4 times when they are hungry with treats. Get them loving to retrieve. I don’t have a hallway anymore so I improvised with the kennel.

Feeding Differently - Little Vaccums

I love watching pups use their nose so I changed things up for feeding. F Litter vom Ozarkforst are chipped and waiting for tattoos.

Dinner Call for the Pups
