Did you know January is “Train your dog month”? We train all breeds, ages, temperaments, including disabled dogs. We also recommend training for all the dogs in the household. Skye (Chihuahua) & Rio (Husky mix) live in the same home. Now that they’re both trained, their owner can take them anywhere and enjoy their company😎

✨CLIENT TESTIMONIAL✨
We adopted Millie, a Border Collie mix, from the Fauquier SPCA in May 2024 when she was about 10 weeks old. During the first three months, we got to know her as her high-energy personality began to shine. I vividly remember trying to bring her back inside after bathroom breaks, only to end up running all over the yard trying to catch her. She also had a habit of stealing shoes and other household items to use as chew toys. Along with Millie, we have two cats, and they spent those first few months hiding upstairs, only coming out when Millie was in the kennel.

True to her breed, Millie is incredibly smart, energetic, loves people, and is curious about everything. Since it had been over 20 years since my husband or I had a puppy, we quickly realized that without proper training, things could become unmanageable. We decided that enrolling Millie in obedience training sooner rather than later was essential. Having previously used some of the “big box” training services for our first dog, we knew we needed more specialized and comprehensive training. Our goal was to help Millie grow into a well-behaved dog who could confidently join us anywhere—whether with family and friends or out in public spaces like downtown or at work.

Fortunately, during one of Millie’s check-ups, our veterinarian highly recommended G&S Dog Training. We scheduled a consultation and immediately knew we had found the trainers that could help us meet our goals.

A few months later, we cannot say enough good things about George and Sarai. They treated Millie as if she were their own dog and shared an incredible amount of knowledge with us. They asked questions we hadn’t even considered and were patient as we learned alongside Millie. Their training is highly personalized to your lifestyle and what you’d like for your dog. Now, we feel confident taking Millie out with us or working with her at home. We’re also thrilled that Millie and our two cats are able to be in the same room together.

We are so grateful to G&S Dog Training for helping set a solid foundation for Millie and cannot recommend their services highly enough!

✨CLIENT TESTIMONIAL✨
I rescued Squirrel, a standard poodle, from the PWC Animal Shelter back in September 2024 when she was just 3 months old. She was found as a stray, so when I brought her home, she had a lot of anxiety issues! She was scared to get in and out of the car, she followed me everywhere around the house, and she would destroy things, and she HATED being crated, just to name a few. I had just become an empty-nester and had some temporary health issues and quickly started to regret my decision to adopt.

I remembered that someone had brought her Rottweiler to the gym one day and that he was so well behaved, even holding his own leash! I reached back to her to get the name of her dog trainers and immediately set up a consultation with G&S Dog Training. At 4 months old, Squirrel started her 2 week board-to-train. Even after that first two weeks, I could see a tremendous change! She was more confident, she was entering and exiting the car with ease, she didn’t follow me around the house as much and she entered and exited the crate on command! We have been diligent in doing our weekly homework and just finished our remaining lessons. I have been able to see Squirrel’s goofy personality develop as she learned her commands and boundaries and can tell that she’s much smarter than I originally anticipated. We’ve even done a couple of road trips, and I didn’t have to worry about her acting out at the hotel or other people’s homes! She’s only 8 months old now but we’re going to continue with additional training to become a service dog so that I can take her everywhere! I really enjoy having her around now, thanks to G&S Dog Training! I can’t say enough about how wonderful George & Sarai are as trainers! They are friendly, patient and always make you feel like family and bring out the full potential of your dog!

Rio, 3 yr old Husky Mix
I came to George and Sarai after getting my 5yr old chihuahua trained with them. Rio had major prey drive and it had recently gotten worse when we moved. He pulled on the leash and would scream to try to get to squirrel’s, bunnies , deer, and etc. Rio had the typical behaviors, leash pulling, jumping on people, and no boundaries. After training, I can go on walks without being dragged by him and not having to worry about hurting my chihuahua. He no longer screams or bolts out when seeing a squirrel, deer, or bunny. Rio has become a very well behaved boy and the training has perfected my dynamic duo. Sarai & George have done a spectacular job with both my pups and are still continuing to do so. Even after graduating I am still presented with new struggles and they are so quick to help find a way to improve. I will forever recommend anyone who is having trouble with behavioral issues to G & S !! Thank youu for everything !!!

✨CLIENT TESTIMONIAL ✨
Our baby Haku is two years old and he is a Miniature Australian Shepherd. We were referred to G&S by a coworker because we were having issues with him heeling, staying in a down stay spot position, and jumping up on other strangers. He was also dashing out the door immediately when we opened it. He didn’t know how to interact with other dogs either.

Now with George and Sarai’s Obedience training, our baby Haku is more confident and trusts us as his pack leaders! We appreciate George and Sarai’s patience and kindness with us throughout this whole process. We are now able to go on long walks, comfortably without Haku leash pulling, or without him leaving our side. This is both on-leash and off-leash! He is also unbothered when around other dogs and knows how to stay calm around a large crowd. His whining is also minimized now and we love it! They truly brought the best out of Haku and we couldn’t be more grateful. We will continue to use what we learned because their specialized training fosters a less stressful lifestyle for both us and Haku. It is not just him that has to put in the work.
