My good old gelding Mr Sorrels (no guessing what colour he is) has been out of commission this fall. Lucky for me, I’m married to a pretty handy horsemen Ty Hotchkiss.

We are building a pretty nice herd of horses around here and Ty let me ride his good young horse Leroy today. It was a treat riding through the Buttes, with my sister Kiki Douglas while Granny Hotchkiss watched my girls ❤️

It takes time and patience to teach them to let you pick up their feet and remove a rope from horseback Definitely pays to have a good solid mount to help with the work! Seabiscuit enjoys the task and is good at it!

One of the yearling fillies learning the ropes. All the colts learn this and it’s an incredibly important lesson! Makes it easier to work with their feet and if they ever get tangled up in wire or something it will help them to not panic and hurt themselves worse.

Dundee is a big cool rascal! He covers country smooth and easy. Sure footed and can go all day. Will watch a cow and is getting better with a rope every day! Really tracks and rates. He’s never offered to buck even when he’s had a lot of time off. He drug a bunch of calves to the branding fire this spring and never made a misstep. Good minded and heavy b***d! He sells October 10th at Jamison Ranch Quarter Horses in Quinter Kansas.

Great little four year old mare. She will probably be selling at Jamison’s in October if she doesn’t sell sooner.
