Rally is a fun sport that has two parts: teaching a really good heel and trick training! There are signs that act as a "trick" you must complete before moving onto the next sign.

Rally is held every Saturday at 3pm beginning late March- October. Rally is pay per class ($50). The first part of class you learn what the signs mean and how to perform them. Second part of class is the coursework part.

What AKC says about Rally:
What it is: A team sport where a dog and handler work together to navigate a course of 10-20signs.
What to do: The signs instruct the dog and handler on the next skill to perform, such as turn, sit, down, stay, etc.
What to focus on: Teamwork, control, and accuracy are more important than speed,
Who can participate: All dogs are welcome, including mixed breeds.

2024 was a great year for dog classes. The new training field really brought my dreams to life. Massive thank you and shout to my amazing, hardworking husband who built the training field ❤️👏🏼🫶🏼 every weekend we would work on building the field. Pulling up trees, one dump truck load at a time, leveling it, adding turf, fencing and adding the gate, Desirable Dog Training’s home was built ❤️🤍💙

To the ones getting a special surprise puppy under the Christmas tree this year, congratulations! I know it’s a time filled with excitement and uneasiness as you wonder how to get the puppy started in the right direction. We all want a puppy who grows up to be the most amazing family dog and so Puppy Palooza was created.

Puppy Palooza!
- Puppies 16 weeks - 1 year old
- Six 1-hour group classes
- $375
- Ribbons and Certificates upon the completion of AKC titles
- 8 Titles: S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, Novice Trick Dog, Virtual Home Manners Puppy and Adult, Fit Dog Bronze and Silver, Intro into agility and Intermediate Trick Dog.
- Class is every Friday 5:30-6:30pm

This is what the AKC says about the S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate, "S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner. Everything your puppy needs to have a great start in life. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is the puppy level of Canine Good Citizen, the program recognized as the gold standard of behavior for dogs."

Training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy. Organized training classes also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you’ll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. Puppies will build confidence as they are exposed to different types of surfaces. They will grow problem solving skills while becoming the best puppy you have ever had.

I am so excited for next years classes!!! When I got Blaze I looked into places I could take him for a puppy class and the closest place was a 2 hour drive. With Blaze I knew I could teach him the skills a class would teach us and I would settle with taking him to dog shows with me for the socal aspect we lost by not doing a class. That showed me that there is a need for a puppy class. One of my amazing students said, “Why don’t you build a puppy course for others?” So I did something….

I’m excited to announce that next year Puppy Palooza! will be added to my courses. I get so excited designing this course!! This is some of my best work! 6 lessons and EIGHT AKC title opportunities 🤯😱 all of the training will be 100% positive reinforcement. All of the learning is FUN for the dog and for the handler! You can’t find this anywhere near Rexburg/ Idaho Falls area. I believe puppies should be happy while learning. They are too young to really understand what we want plus we need to teach them. Blaze is the superstar who helped me design this for puppies.

My archived class, Foundations 1 (did you read that right 😱 spoiler something way better is coming!!), taught me about real questions puppy owners have and what owners were looking for when they started with a puppy. You have a new puppy… what do you do? Where do you start? I got you 😉 Puppy Palooza! was designed for you and help build a confident puppy. With EIGHT AKC titles you know there is a lot packed into this!!

Puppy Palooza! is for puppies 16 weeks old- 1 year old. It’ll be held on Fridays 5:30-6:30 with 4 puppies max limit.

Blaze earned his first qualifying score of his career and first qualifying score in Barn Hunt!! Also earning a 2nd place and being a superstar puppy in a crazy trial environment. Congratulations to this 6 month old puppy 🎉👏🏼

Beginning stages of backing up. The previous post talked about how the dog is the better trainer for having one thing on their mind. It hasn’t been guessed yet what the secret is but in this video I use it to my advantage. Can you see it? I left sound on to help you get a full picture.

Dog training is the coolest thing! It’s a big puzzle you are trying to solve. When the pieces fit together it is a beautiful thing ❤️

Any time you are with your dog, one of you is the trainer and the other is the trainee.

Your dog is always learning. Dogs are better at being the trainer because they only have one thing on their mind. (Comment below what you think it is).

Humans on the other hand have many thoughts going through our mind. Examples: phones, Facebook, work, family matters, finances, is this going to look good if I post it, etc. There is always something taken up space in our head that doesn’t allow us to be fully present. Which makes being a trainer difficult.

Once you figure out how the dog is able to be the better trainer, then that’ll help us see from a different perspective and help us change our approach to being more present. It’s really cool what you can learn from observing dogs.

During the scavenger hunt, you can take an adoptable dog to a list of several businesses in Idaho Falls to get dog treats, pup cups, and toys! Then, come back to the shelter for a special prize!

If you're wanting to adopt, this is a great opportunity to get to know a dog outside of the shelter environment. And, if you're looking to volunteer, this is a great opportunity to bless the life of a shelter dog through a fun enrichment activity. 💙
