Liz's Pampered Paws

Liz's Pampered Paws Liz's Pampered Paws LLC provides professional care in your home. Dog walking, pet care to 🐕‍🦺🐈🦜🐇
(8)

While I have had a life-long passion for animals, I spent the first half of my career working in the corporate world before deciding to to make my passion my work! After spending 5 years working as a manager at a pet boarding and care resort I decided to take the huge leap of faith and start my own business. Liz' Pampered Paws opened in 2009 and I have had the pleasure of taking care of dogs and c

ats (and a few chinchillas!) throughout Columbus ever since. I pride myself on the personal care and relationships I build with all my clients and their "fur" babies. I consider my approach unique because I can tailor a visit and play plan to fit the unique needs of every pet and the various demands of any schedule.

The shelters are already full, they do not have room for your lost dog. Please prepare now for what’s to come and keep in mind that fireworks have already started, so keep those collars and tags on at all times.

Say Hello to Ozzy!

Ozzy is a 1 year old, 95 pound Lab mix who is new to Stop the Suffering. Ozzy is a gentle giant who despite his young age acts like a mature gentleman. His foster reports that he is so easy going, gets along well and is respectful of other dogs, and appears to be already housebroken! Ozzy is currently being treated for Lyme disease, but is not expected to have any long-term health issues as a result of it. He may have applications in progress but is currently available. We will have more information once he settles in and we get to know him better.

🐾 To learn more about our adoption process and to apply to adopt, visit www.stopthesuffering.org/adopt. All of our dogs are fostered in the Columbus area and are available for adoption to Ohio residents. Give a big welcome to Trapper John!

Trapper John is a 1.5 year old, 30 pound Dachshund mix who is new to Stop the Suffering. Trapper was abandoned by his prior owner on a rural road, but thankfully some good samaritans saw what happened and were able to trap him and bring him to safety. Despite his rough start in life, Trapper is slowly building his confidence and wants nothing more than human affection and belly rubs. Trapper dogs well with other dogs and appears to already be housebroken. We will have more information once he settles in and we get to know him better.

Between now and July 4th, there will be a 30-60% increase in lost dogs. More dogs will go missing on the 4th than any other day of the year. Shelters are already at or beyond capacity, so let’s make sure we don’t give them even more dogs to look after.

If your dog is afraid of fireworks, BE PREPARED. If you got a puppy in the last 12 months and this will be its first 4th of July, consider that this could be a really scary weekend for them.

Avoid taking your dog to any events in unfamiliar places, especially if fireworks are involved. Scared dogs run and it’s not worth the risk, so leave them at home.

Here are some additional tips to keep your pup safe this coming holiday!

If you're looking for maximum love and cuddles then Maximus is your guy!

Maximus (aka Max) is a 1 year old, 42 pound, German Shepherd mix.....or "mini GSD floofer," if you prefer. He's a few pounds underweight, so needs to gain just a few pounds. He may have applications in progress but is currently available.

Max is just the best boy ever. He is house and crate trained and is good with dogs of all kinds as well as kids. His foster says he is as close to perfectly behaved as a young dog can be. He is happy, affectionate, playful, respectful of boundaries and a quick learner who responds well to corrections. He's a total cuddle bug, put up with his bath without too much fuss and loves to be brushed. Do note that, like many young dogs and consistent with his breed mix, Max needs exercise! The more exercise he gets, the better behaved he is during down times. He loves to run, enjoys playing with other dogs, chew toys, etc. and is then calm and restful inside.

Max's foster says: "I've had roughly 40 foster dogs over the past few years and Max is easily the most adoptable foster I've ever had. It is impossible to meet him and not fall in love." If you're willing to chance falling in love with Max, apply today to meet him. Max is currently being treated for Lime disease and is not expected to have any long-term health issues.

ANNUAL REMINDER: The Columbus Arts Festival is a great place for people but not for pets. Heat and crowded conditions make the Arts Festival a stressful and potentially unhealthy place for dogs and other animal companions. We love pets too and that's why we ask that you leave yours at home!

This guy might be the most handsome and photogenic guy on the block and he could be yours!

Gris is a 4 year old, 90 lbs German Shepherd who first came to STS in July 2022 from a shelter in crisis. At the time, he was heartworm positive, weighed only 52 lbs, and was very sluggish and withdrawn. Now, after receiving the care he needed, Gris is a big, healthy, active boy who has really come out of his shell!

Gris has been fostered by a dog trainer, and has done extraordinarily well. He originally came to us with barrier and leash reactivity (barking etc. at strange people and dogs when on a leash or behind a barrier), but has had extensive, consistent help working through it and has made HUGE progress! Because of this, he will continue to require slow and structured introductions to new people. While he has picked a few dogs that he will play with, he will do best in a home without other dogs, and we're recommending no small children. He is perfectly happy being an only dog with a small group of people to love. He will not be the type of dog who likes to hang out at bars and patios or with a house party full of strange people, but he is perfectly content to chill in his crate until things calm down.

Gris is house broken, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. While at the trainer's, he had several successful structured introductions to new people, and has made some new friends! Fetch is his jam (and also a useful tool for introductions), and once he trusts you, he's an incredibly loving companion. He will need a home with an experienced handler who can set him up for success.
This incredibly resilient dog has so much love to give, and we are committed to finding him a home where he can thrive and be successful!

Tered in the Columbus area and are available for adoption to Ohio residents. If you see a dog posted on social media who is not listed on the adoption application, select “unknown” and fill in the dog’s name later in the application.
