I educate puppy owners on all things puppy and am here to answer all the questions that come up while you are learning to be the very best pup parent. I want new puppy owners to be able to set aside their confusion, and get the simple instruction they need to be able to relax and begin to really enjoy their new best friend. My goal is to preserve and improve the relationship you have with your dog through kind training and lifestyle modifications. I will teach you to better understand and communicate with your dog and think as s/he does. I offer private in-home lessons and virtual programs. I also lead free weekly pack walks that are open to all in Reynoldsburg, ohio

Why YOU need to do the work with your puppy.

I don’t think someone should train your puppy for you.

There are exceptions, but not many.

You got a puppy to have a best friend.

Someone to walk with, spend time with, cuddle with.

Why would you outsource one of the most formative elements of your relationship?

Teaching your puppy deepens your relationship and is so rewarding!

I know you don’t know what exactly to do, or when, or how.

But I can teach you those things!

It’s really not that hard to train your puppy.

You need to set yourself up for success, then just need a few minutes a day to show your puppy what you want them to do.

If it seems overwhelming, I understand!

When you first bring your puppy home all you do is take them outside and clean up house accidents.

Then fend off the attacks from their needle teeth.

It isn’t easy.

But it is simple.

I have helped hundreds of puppy owners to raise their puppies to be perfect family dogs.

I know EXACTLY what you need to be successful.

I can teach you what to do when and how.

It can be as easy as following a weekly checklist.

🟣👇Here is what happened when I stopped focusing on teaching Obedience Commands👇🟣

-

🌈My dogs learned how to live happily without needing told what to do! 🌈

-

I’m not the type of person who wants to have to constantly watch my dogs and boss them around.

-

I never wanted to rely on strong obedience (like a 20 minute stay or place command) to live happily with my dogs.

-

So I DON’T FOCUS ON OBEDIENCE COMMANDS

-

I do teach them, just not very early on, and honestly, I find myself barely using them.

-

Obedience commands are things like sit, stay, down, go to place, heel, the “traditional training” things

-

I teach concepts more like…

🟢How to not be a jerk
🟢How to relax
🟢How to greet people
🟢How to play
🟢What to do while people are eating
🟢How to entertain yourself
🟢How to politely ask for attention

You know, the things that REALLY matter

And I am satisfied with my decision Every. Single. Day.

When puppies are young they are designed to absorb all that they see and hear, and accept it as the way things are.

Failure to expose them to all the world has to offer during this critical period results in dogs that are AFRAID and that generally have high levels of ANXIETY.

💜Beginning socialization exercises AS SOON AS YOU BRING YOUR PUPPY HOME is THE BEST way to set them up for success in life.💜

WHEN YOU SOCIALIZE EARLY...

🟢Your dog confidently interacts with the world and enjoys exploring on walks and playing with other dogs.

🟢Your dog happily gets into the car so travel is easy, even going to the vet.

🟢 Your dog will be calm and relaxed in public and at family gatherings and you don’t have to worry about how they will act around children or strangers

IF YOU MISS THE CRITICAL SOCIALIZATION PERIOD...

🔴 Your puppy doesn’t get all the positive exposure they need to be a confident dog.

🔴 Your dog will be timid and choose to avoid new experiences. They will get anxious when anything outside their normal happens. (guests visit, thunderstorms)

What's the best thing to do if you think you need help with training your puppy?

A- Search Youtube

B- Go to Google

C- Ask an Expert

The internet doesn't know anything about you or what you are going through.

The internet will only show you what you search for.

So you are likely to get advice that isn't actually appropriate for you, but is just what you know to look for.

Does that make sense?

🟣🐾3 signs your puppy doesn’t understand house training 🐾🟣

1️⃣Your puppy potties inside as much as outside

2️⃣When your puppy has accidents inside, they aren’t near the door.

3️⃣Your puppy doesn’t go to the door and bark / scratch / ring a bell

Most puppies won’t really understand house training until they are 5+ months old.

That means it is up to you to keep things consistent and start good habits so they can learn the right way to do things.

Why isn’t it the norm to hire a puppy trainer?

I feel like everyone goes to a puppy class or some kind of class before their dog is a year old

And that is good, for sure.

But it is still a minority of people who seek out in-depth knowledge on how to raise, train, and live with dogs.

Why is that?

Are people embarrassed to get help?

Do people think it’s not worth the investment?

Do people not know this type of help is available?

I’m just over here being curious about how I can offer support and guidance, everything a puppy owner needs to be successful…

And they say they are just going to sign up for a group puppy class.

Like that can compare to 5 months of training and support.

Clearly, people are not dog raising experts.

Thousands of dogs -puppies even- get surrendered to shelters every year when people give up on them.

I am trying to prevent that.

But it is hard.

Could you do me a favor and help me spread the word?

That you shouldn’t be embarrassed to ask for help.

That investing in your relationship with your puppy is both a rewarding and responsible thing to do.

And that you can get help that is personalized, kind, and supports and teaches you in the way you want.
