The Oneida County Humane Society began advocating for humane treatment of animals and children in 1913 when it was officially recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit organization. MThe Rhinelander Animal Shelter currently provides services to all of Oneida County animals. Over the years, members of the Oneida County Hum

ane Society actively provided funds for area animal shelters and humane societies. In 2011 a small group of area animal lovers came together with the hope of expanding the Society’s activities to include education to the public and greater assistance to the Rhinelander Animal Shelter. On July 1, 2012, the Oneida County Humane Society assumed operational responsibility for the Animal Shelter, renaming it the Oneida County Humane Society Adoption Center.

🐾A Huge Thank You to Charter Next Generation - Rhinelander!!

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from our friends at Charter Next Generation. At their recent Family Fun Night, OCHS Board Member Sue Otis had the honor of accepting a generous $5,000 donation on behalf of the Oneida County Humane Society. 💙
This amazing gift will directly support our efforts to cover medical expenses for animals in our care, giving more pets the chance to heal, thrive, and find loving homes.

To everyone at Charter Next Generation: thank you for being champions for the most vulnerable members of our community. Your kindness truly makes tails wag!

Most found pets already have a home and simply wandered a little too far!

OCHS has teamed up with the community to help reunite many found pets before they even step foot in the shelter using the power of social media and Lost & Found databases such as Lost Dogs of Wisconsin and Petco Love Lost or Pet FBI.

Thanks to the Park City Cares Foundation, we’ll be serving up brats at the Rhinelander Trigs, so stop by, say hello, and grab a bite for a good cause.

There’s nothing quite like a Trigs brat—especially when it helps pets in need! 🐾🌭
