Little Red Barn Dog Rescue We are a small rescue located in the heart of the Northwoods of Wisconsin! We are a federally recognized 501c3 EIN 84-4695525.

We strive to improve the lives of dogs in need until we locate their forever families. We assist with local surrenders, unclaimed strays, as well as transfer dogs out of shelters. We are county and state inspected through Barron County and the WDATCP; Dog Facility Operator Licsense #490092. As a nonprofit we operate primarily off of donations collected from supporters to provide our residents with

the very best in medical, enrichment, and care. Donations are used towards transportation fees, medical fees, and daily care needs. We serve our community by caring for local surrender dogs, as well as unclaimed stray dogs in need of a place to lay their head until their furever families comes! We assist many Southern rescues, shelters and animal controls by transferring their over-crowed dogs to our care. We began operations late January of 2020, and we are hoping to build our rescue to last! We are constantly evolving to provide our residents with every thing they may need to strive, learn, be happy and healthy.

EVELYN is a super happy 13 week old Australian Shepherd mix?
We were told "farm dog" but this "farm dog" is just the cutest!

Her foster, Tiffany, has this to say:
"She LOVES to play and chew on ALL the toys and play with the dogs.
LOVES people.
Loves snow, she jumps thru the deep parts and its sooo cute!
Potty training is going good. She's a smart puppy!
She is obsessed with chasing our cats, and did catch a chicken one time"
(No chickens or cats were harmed, but a home without cats or chickens is in Evelyn's best interest)

Her adoption fee is $500 and includes up to date (age appropriate) vaccinations for distemper/parvo and bordatella. Lifetime registered microchip, certified vet inspection, preventative treatments for fleas/ticks/worms, and a spay certificate to cover the cost of spay when of age at Animal Hospital of Chetek or Animal Hospital North in Rice Lake

Adoption Fees are:
Puppies 8 Weeks to 6 Months $500
Dogs 6 months to 8 years $375
Seniors 8 and over $275

Adoption includes up to date vaccinations, preventative treatments, microchipping, CVI, 4dx (if 6 months and over,) and spay/neuter certificate to cover the cost of spaying/neutering with Animal Hospital of Chetek and Animal Hospital North in Rice Lake.

We say this often, and it is the absolute truth. No one rescue, shelter or animal control can do it all on their own- and we so appreciate our friendships with amazing organizations likes Tails of Hope. When a transport of 4 dogs turned into 8, turned into 16, turned into 23 needing placement- they were just a phone call away.

Today was another long day, and it's not over yet, but 23 more dogs have been given a second chance! February stats are 70 dogs assisted through LRBDR, with 17 going to receiving shelters/rescues, and 53 entering the LRBDR Adoption program.

Tonight they all sleep happily, dreaming of furever families, and looking forward to a bright future! 🥰❤️🐕

Maddi: "My favorite activity is cuddling. My brother is okay, but I really like being held and cuddled by humans. My ideal forever home would be one who wants to spend a lot of time with me. My foster mom says someone is going to be very lucky to have me - I’m as sweet and adorable as they come!"

Mason: "My foster mom says I’m quite the catch, whatever that means. I love being with people, cuddling, and playing. My ideal home would have time to spend with me - people are a big deal to me, and I want to be by them as much as possible! If you are looking for your forever best friend, I have a whole lot of love to offer!"

The under socialized Sheltie Pups are definitely getting in their socialization, greatly due to our amazing volunteers! While these 4 boys aren't quite ready for adoption, they get closer each day! 🥰🐕❤️ PS: The combination is: Ear, back, belly skritches ❤️

🎉LRBDR 5 Year Anniversary is this Friday🎉 When LRBDR began 5 years ago, we had high hopes of assisting atleast 50 dogs our first year... well a few months after starting, we hit that 50 dog mark and realized we were going to surpass that first goal. Fast forward 5 years and now it is 2025. On Friday we will have helped over 50 dogs so far in the first couple weeks of the New Year. This absolutely could not be accomplished without our amazing community (both local and online,) our volunteers, fosters, adopters, supporters and donors. We celebrate this accomplishment with ALL OF YOU who make it possible! Who would have thought small aspirations could grow into big change! Always keep foraging forward, and always do the best you can! 🥰❤️🐕
