This Maid-Rites sandwich is perfect for a quick dinner or a casual gathering, bringing a touch of Americana right to your table! 🍔
Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
Water (enough to just cover the meat)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Steamed hamburger buns, for serving
Topping Ideas:
Ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions
Instructions:
1️⃣ Cook the Beef:
In a skillet, brown and crumble the ground beef with the onion and salt over medium-high heat until the meat is no longer pink. Ensure to make the crumbles small as it cooks. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
2️⃣ Add Flavorings:
Stir in the mustard, vinegar, and sugar. Add enough water to just cover the meat.
3️⃣ Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low. Continue to cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until most of the water has evaporated.
4️⃣ Season and Serve:
Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Serve the meat mixture on steamed buns with your choice of toppings like ketchup, mustard, pickles, or onions.
