Regular ear cleaning helps prevent infections and keeps them feeling comfortable. Plus, a quick ear check can go a long way in catching any issues early on. We had a fantastic time visiting our friends at Dallas Animal Services, where we got to groom a few of their amazing dogs!

Elvira, a sweet Husky, especially needed some attention due to severe matting. Sadly, she was found as a stray, but her story is a reminder of how essential regular brushing is for Huskies and other heavy-coated breeds. Keeping up with grooming not only helps them look and feel their best, but it also prevents painful matting.

It was a pleasure to give these pups a bit of extra care! And it’s because of your continued support that we’re able to go help our pup(s) like Elvira.

P.S this little girl is still up for adoption 😉

Update on Reba's Health & Care Needs

We wanted to give you an important update on Reba. As many of you know, Reba has been with us for a while now, and she’s truly become part of our family. Unfortunately, we’ve recently discovered that she’s dealing with an injury to her hock joint in her left hind leg. During her training, we began noticing that she seemed to be in pain when asked to do certain tasks. So, we brought in the vet to take a closer look.

The vet determined that the injury likely occurred during Reba's racing career, and unfortunately, it wasn’t properly treated at the time. The lack of nutrition she experienced before being rescued also made the injury more severe, and the ligaments didn’t heal properly. As a result, Reba will now need to manage this injury for the rest of her life.

Currently, she’s being treated with Equioxx and bute to help manage the pain and swelling. We’re also adding a joint supplement with herbal anti-inflammatories to help support her long-term health.

As you can imagine, her medical costs are beginning to add up, and we’re reaching out for your support in helping us cover her care. As the new year approaches, we’ll also be looking for new sponsors for all of our animals. The sponsorship fee helps cover basic feed costs for the year, but medical expenses like Reba’s go beyond that, and we need extra help to ensure all our animals get the care they deserve.

We know that God has a purpose for all of our animals, and we are truly thankful for the opportunity to care for Reba and the rest of our wonderful rescue animals. Your support makes all the difference, and we’re so grateful for the kindness and generosity of our community.
