Kujo absolutely crushed #4 last night, 12hrs old. With a jumped string, buck dipped and pulled causing the unfortunate gut hit, little to no blood. We'll expand more on this track at a later time as this track was great opportunity for Kujo and I.

Kujo was able to bring in #2 this morning. Clipped lung/low liver with plugged exit. Quickly stopped externally bleeding. Again the dry conditions played a large factor in track difficulty. But nothing the BlueDawg can't handle.

Unfortunately #3 slipped away with what we believe to be a high back shot, he'll live to fight another day.

While pictures may not be our strong suit, tracking definitely is. With the extremely dry conditions quickly turning into rain showers Kujo made some adjustments and flew down the bloodless track. Quickly located the buck tucked into a small thicket on a rock shelf, the opposite direction he was last seen walking away.

With the opening of bow season, Kujo and I would like to wish everyone good luck and happy hunting!

Recovery #4
Liver/gut-18hrs

Kujo took to this track extremely well and locked on quickly. Took a minor break as we came up on a large skunk and nobody wants to disrupt a skunks day...
Pepe le pew passes and we're back on, flying throught the track. Quickly coming up on last blood where the hunter left off and did not advance. Kujo never skipped a beat and we cruised into a logged hill side with lots of tree tops. Perfect area for a wounded deer to hold up.
Spotting 2 beds tucked into the tops, Kujo props himself up on a log and grabs the wind and straight down the hill we go. Bottomed out on the logging road with Kujo pulling as hard as he could! Turn the hillside and Kujo goes wild, BBD!

Recovery #3
Liver- 25hrs

Youth Hunt:
Kujo didn't take to this track right away as something caught his attention and was a major distraction, leading us along a ridge line.

Started him over and he was more focused and locked in, we received a call from the neighbor that they found the buck down in the valley along their foodplot in a woodline directly below where we were headed.
I let Kujo finish the track out and he did very well.

Recover #2
Liver- 14hrs

#2 was a perfect example for "the nose knows"

As we started this track on the edge of a hay field where the doe was last seen Kujo wanted to turn around. Not listening to him as I could see blood leading into the woods got him going on the trail... backwards. While running this track Kujo led us to a secondary blood trail and gave me the "duh" look. I knew at that moment this deer had done a big loop and Kujo knew the whole time.. so we made our way back to field to re-start and Kujo took off cruising towards the neighbors house. As we made our way to the tree line I could see the deer laying along the fence, 77 yards from where we started.

Recovery #1

Strong willed doe turned zombie that just kept moving!
Hunter was able to watch her from his stand at roughly 100yrd and see his shot placement (which was good). Unfortunately deflected off a rib and exited a little further back clipping lung bit punch the liver.
Started Kujo where hunter last saw the doe standing at 100yrd. Kujo worked this area to find where she slipped out of sight. Threw his head back in the wind and it was off to the races!
Kujo pulled hard right cruising through the timber line and diving down the hill towards the road. As we hit the ditch along the road there was a bloody bed, Kujo quickly wanted to advance across the road as he was locked onto this doe.
We were able to find a small amount of blood on the edge of the road, land owner was contacted and we were back on. Back down the hill and crossed a lawn mowed walking trail just behind the house she crawled into a large thorn bush and hid the best she could.

Rain days are for tracking updates!

Kujo has been doing extremely well this year! With 4 very difficult recoveries, that he seemed to fly through with ease. 2 confirmed still alive (minimum of 1 week after track). 2 officially unknown but I fully expect to be alive.

Kujo absolutely crushes our first track this morning. Grabbing this bucks wind before he even had paws on the ground. 217 yards in just under 7 minutes. Hunter made all the right moves after a hard ΒΌ'ed shot by calling on our team and backing out. Congrats on an awesome buck!

Took in a Walker pup last night. It had been running around the town of LaValle for afew days. Very lost and very hungry. Nobody from the area is missing one. But I know hounds can cover ground very quickly so if anyone is missing one feel free to reach out.

Sorry for any inconveniences but we will be unavailable until after the 16th of November. Headed to Montana, good luck everyone!!
