Today is the 1st Day of Fall! 🍁 As temperatures start to get cooler, animals will seek shelter in non ideal locations. We understand that people don’t want mice, snakes, lizards..in their home. However, please NEVER use sticky traps or rodenticides. They are inhumane and the animal suffers a slow and painful death. Instead use live traps, ultrasonic repellers, and unpleasant scents. Just a friendly reminder that we share this planet with our animal friends.

Here’s a video we made of the Tritrichomonas blagburni organisms, for the parasitology nerds amongst us. This video of a microscope slide is from a kitten patient who’s diarrhea was not getting better. 😺 Red Barn Cat Clinic, LLC is extremely lucky to have a board certified parasitologist on staff for consultation!!! We now can test cats for this at the clinic 🔬 News Flash 💥 After some research we now have the medication in stock for treatment💊 of this nasty diarrhea bug!

Tomorrow and the first of every month is Heart-worm prevention day for all our patients!!! In Michigan we have to protect our feline friends as well as dogs from this deadly vector-borne disease year-round. Interceptor (oral tablet)and Advantage-Multi or Revolution (topical spot-ons) are three of the medications we often recommend😺 Our handsome patient, Elliott, demonstrates how he eats his monthly Interceptor tablet. He loves them so much he wants the whole box in the beginning of the video❤️
