Bryan County Opens 2 Cooling Centers:

Due to the damages and power outages caused by Hurricane Helene, Bryan County Schools will be closed on Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1.

To help keep you and your family cool, we've opened cooling stations at the Timber Trail Gymnasium and Henderson Park Gymnasium. The cooling centers will be open until 8 PM tonight and will reopen tomorrow at 8 AM, with operating hours from 8 AM to 8 PM. You can enjoy the amenities of the facilities and charge your devices 🔋📱 here.

Additionally, we’re distributing bags of ice 🧊 in the back parking lot near the football fields, with water 💧 deliveries on the way for our residents.

Thank you for your patience as we recover together. Stay safe, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as more services become available!

A huge thank you to Nine Line and Black Rifle Coffee Co. for hosting us at today’s adoption event! 🐾 The pups had a blast enjoying puppuccinos and soaking up all the love and attention.

We were also thrilled to be joined by volunteers from Samaritan’s Purse, who are doing incredible work to help our community recover from the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Debby. We think they enjoyed it as much as we did!

Best of all, two of our dogs found their forever homes, and two more have upcoming adoption appointments! 🏡 We couldn’t be happier.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us today! ❤️

We wanted to take a moment to thank some of our amazing local organizations that have helped Bryan County Animal Services remain available for possible animal evacuations during this historic flooding.

We want to start by thanking both Renegade Paws Rescue and Humane Society for Greater Savannah for pulling current shelter animals out of our facilities to create space for evacuees, including some of our longest resident dogs. Some of the dogs pulled are still looking for fosters with Renegade Paws Rescue. If you would like to foster one please reach out to them and apply to be a foster online!

https://www.renegadepawsrescue.org/foster-application

We wanted to thank Fixing the Boro for loaning extra cat kennels for our local emergency teams to use when evacuating cats from homes and onto boats and to Bryan Animal League for offering assistance with transport and food donations for evacuees. Another shoutout to Two Black Dogs Foundation for collecting donations and getting them to evacuees! ❤️

We also want to thank the members of our community who have taken the time to help animals they have seen in need. We are so appreciative to be surrounded by such kind and compassionate individuals.

Thank you all so much for any help you have provided. Animal welfare truly is a community wide mission and we would not be able to make the same impact without the support of all of these amazing people.

Do you have what it takes to be an amazing foster parent? Fill out our online application and we'll be in touch ASAP for next steps.

Meet Myers!

Myers recently attended an adoption event where he did phenomenal with kids of all age (including toddlers) and dogs of all sizes/ages.

Myers is a male shepherd mix and is approximately 3 years old. He is about 50lbs. He always has a smile on his face and loves to run around playing outside and greeting the other dogs at the shelter. This smart boy has been working on learning basic commands.

If you are interesting in setting up an appointment to meet Myers please contact our Pembroke shelter at (912)653-3816 or put in an inquiry through Adopt a Pet or Petfinder.
