Though she was initially a bit nervous, Chicory has made incredible progress in building her confidence. She's a pint-sized cuddle bug who adores attention—especially after getting her zoomies out! 🐾

Leaving My Puppy at Daycare for the First Time

"As a first-time puppy parent, I can’t lie—I was a little nervous about leaving my 5-month-old fur baby, Max, at daycare. He’s such a little bundle of energy, but he’s still figuring out the world, and I wasn’t sure how he’d handle being around other dogs. Would they be too big or too playful for him? Would he be overwhelmed? I imagined him in a bustling room full of dogs, and my heart skipped a beat.

But then I reminded myself: I chose The Dog Stop for a reason. Their staff took the time to walk me through everything, from their vaccination requirements to their supervised playtime groups that match dogs by size and personality. Knowing Max would be placed with dogs who matched his energy level put my mind at ease.

The drop-off process was simple. The staff greeted Max like he was their own, and they had a checklist ready to ensure he had everything he needed—his favorite blanket, a chew toy, and instructions for his snack time. I felt confident leaving him because they clearly understood how important it is to create a safe, happy environment for puppies.

By the time I came to pick him up, Max was wagging his tail and looked like he had the best day ever. He even made a new best friend, a fellow pup named Bella! Seeing him so happy reassured me that daycare isn’t just a necessity for busy days—it’s a place where he can grow, learn, and socialize safely.

To anyone nervous about leaving their puppy at daycare or boarding for the first time, I’d say: Do your homework, find a place that understands young pups, and trust the process. The Dog Stop has made all the difference for Max and me!"

We’ve got you covered. Our groomers offer walk-in nail trim appointments as well to get you in and out in a matter of minutes.
