**Meet Pretzel!** Located in Bethesda, Maryland--a high energy boy!

Pretzel is a loving and energetic 4-year-old, 25-pound boy who is ready to find his forever home. He comes from a very loving and happy environment, but due to his previous owner’s personal and family losses, they are no longer able to give Pretzel the time and energy he deserves. Now, Pretzel is looking for a family who can match his zest for life and shower him with love and attention.

**About Pretzel:**
- **Active and Playful:** Pretzel thrives on activity and adores playing with toys, especially chasing balls and playing catch, which is his absolute favorite pastime. He is extremely energetic.
- **Loyal and Loving:** Once he gets to know you, Pretzel is incredibly loyal, cuddly, and warm. He’ll be your best friend and protector.
- **Protective Nature:** Pretzel barks when strangers enter his home, but he quickly settles down and warms up to new people once he feels comfortable.
- **Great Indoors:** In his primary home, Pretzel has never demonstrated separation anxiety or engaged in destructive behavior. He’s well-mannered and respectful of household items.

**Important Details:**
- **Neutered:** Pretzel is neutered and ready to join his new family.
- **No Cats:** He detests cats and would do best in a home without them.
- **Squirrels Beware:** Pretzel is obsessed with squirrels, so a fenced yard would be a big plus for safe and happy outdoor playtime.

**What Pretzel Needs:**
Pretzel is looking for an energetic and loving family who can provide him with daily walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. A home without cats and a secure yard for outdoor fun would be ideal. He would do best with a family who can appreciate his protective nature and provide him with the structure and companionship he thrives on.

**Rehoming Timeline:**
Pretzel’s owner is dedicated to finding him the perfect home by March or April and is committed to ensuring he is placed in the best and most loving environment possible.

If you think you could be the right match for Pretzel, apply to meet this wonderful boy and discover the joy he’ll bring to your life!

Update: ADOPTED!!

Introducing Holly, a 2 year old, 12 pound Cavapoo! Being fostered in Midlothian, VA

**Meet Holly!**

Holly is a sweet little girl who just wants to be your best friend. After having pups and coming from an unknown past, Holly is a bit skittish but thrives in the company of people she trusts. She may initially back away from you, but she’s perfectly fine being picked up, held, and showered with love. Once in your arms, she absolutely adores rubs, hugs, and cuddles.

**Her Favorite Things:**
- Sitting alongside her people, especially for cozy TV time in the evenings.
- Quietly snoozing in her crate through the night.
- Running and playing in a safe, fenced yard (she’s still learning the "leash" thing!).

**Her Progress:**
- Holly is improving every day with her confidence and eating habits. While she’s still hesitant to eat with people around, she’s getting better and feels more comfortable over time.
- She does well with potty breaks when kept on a routine and enjoys exploring outside in a fenced yard. Continued patience and gentle training will help her master this skill.

**Good with Others:**
Holly is great with children (including her foster's grandkids) and gets along well with other dogs. She rarely barks and, as a bonus, has no shedding!

**The Ideal Home for Holly:**
Holly will thrive in a patient, loving home where she can continue building trust and confidence. A fenced yard is ideal for her to run and play safely while learning to navigate the world at her own pace. With time, routine, and gentle care, Holly will blossom into a happy, confident dog and a loyal, loving companion.

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this sweet girl, Holly will reward you with her quiet, gentle love and companionship. She’s ready to find her forever family—could that be you?

UPDATE: Adopted today!! They are going to live their best life with the Sweeney Family!

Are you looking for two adorable mushes this holiday season? Look no further, Rory and R***r are the pups for you!

**Meet Rory and R***r**

Rory and R***r are a sweet, bonded pair being fostered in the Yorktown, VA area. Rory, a mostly white Cavachon, and R***r, a Blenheim Cavalier with auburn ears, seek a loving forever home where they can stay together. These two 33-pound pups are neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and have wonderful temperaments that make them ideal companions for the right family.

**Their Personalities:**

- **Affectionate:** Rory and R***r are loving and cuddly dogs. They adore being with their people, whether it’s lounging on the couch or snuggling in your lap. They often sleep curled up next to each other with their paws crossed over one another—a true testament to their close bond.

- **Well-Behaved:** They are mature dogs without the challenges of puppy behaviors. They’re calm, respectful, and very loving. They don’t beg for food or treats and bark only when necessary, such as needing to go out or alerting to unusual noises.

- **Social:** Rory and R***r are great around other dogs and people. They do not react to other dogs unless one surprises them near the fence, and they’re polite when meeting new people. They haven’t been around children yet, but they are gentle enough to likely do well with dog-savvy kids.

**Daily Habits and Training:**

- **Potty Habits:** Both dogs are potty trained and need to go out about every 4-5 hours during the day but can hold it overnight. They show clear signals when they need to go potty, such as walking in circles.

- **Feeding:** Rory and R***r eat well, though R***r tends to finish faster and may try to sneak some of Rory’s food. Feeding them separately (with bowls a few feet apart) works perfectly. Neither shows food aggression. They are perfectly proportioned at 33 pounds each. Not an ounce of fat on them!

- **Commands:** They understand “no” and come when called. While they don’t seem to know many formal commands yet, they are eager to please and respond well to treats. They will even sit for snacks.

- **Leash Walking:** They are doing well with leash training. When walked separately, they walk nicely and enjoy meeting people and other dogs calmly.

- **Crate and Sleep:** Rory and R***r sleep together on a couch in their foster’s sunroom and settle immediately when the lights go out. They’ve also done well in a large, soft-sided crate when needed.
- **Play:** These two enjoy romping in a fenced yard and exploring side-by-side but aren’t particularly interested in toys or balls. They’d much rather spend time with each other and their humans.

**Home Requirements:**
Rory and R***r need a home where they can stay together. A fenced yard is a must—R***r is quite active, quick, and loves to explore, while Rory may wander off if left unsupervised. Their ideal home would include someone who can let them out every 4-5 hours or provide access to a doggy door. They love being near their humans and would thrive in a family where someone is home for much of the day.

**Why They’re Special:**
Rory and R***r are a loving, well-behaved duo who bring joy wherever they go. They’re bonded in a beautiful way—playing, cuddling, and running side-by-side. They’re gentle, social, and adaptable dogs who are ready to bring their boundless love and companionship to a lucky forever family.

If you’re looking for a pair of mature, happy dogs who will brighten your day with their energy and affection, Rory and R***r may be the perfect match for you. Don’t miss the chance to give this incredible bonded pair the loving home they deserve!

**Rory and R***r are ready for adoption!** Apply to meet them today and see for yourself just how special they are.

Introducing Bonny!!

Ms. Bonny (Bon Bon, or Bonny Bon) is a former commercial breeder being fostered in Smithfield, VA. Bonny is 5 years old. She is easy-going, but still a bit shy and timid, but wants to be your best friend and hang out wherever you are. If so inclined, she loves to share the bed and does not snore or hog! When outside, she enjoys being able to zoom about, and her ears start twirling--which is absolutely adorable.

She is still learning about playing. She will watch the cats and other dogs but does not fully understand. She loves having a small ball rolled towards her, she will jump on it, then not know what to do next. She has access to a crate, but only goes there when there is too much going on. She prefers to be on the couch!

She loves to hang out on the couch, gets along well with the cats and other dogs. She will flinch if you touch her unexpectedly, but there is no snap, she is getting used to being adored. When it is time to go in or out, she will circle. We think it is excitement, but also may be adjusting to the process. No accidents in the house!

She does well at mealtime. Bonny needs to be fed in one of the larger kennels, so the other dogs do not eat her food, her appetite is good, not aggressive. Sometimes she does not eat all that is offered, but her weight is good. She is still unsure of treats and not sure of taking treats from strangers when we are out and about. She is not well trained on her leash but is learning. Definitely need a harness for safety!

She is very quiet, I do not think I have heard her bark yet. Looking forward to hearing her voice and to see her personality shine.

ADOPTION PENDING:

Sammi is a true sweetheart! Rescued from a difficult start in life, she has shown remarkable resilience and is now ready for her forever home. Sammi adores cuddling, snuggling on laps, and is a devoted companion who will follow you wherever you go. She's happy, playful, and brings endless joy to her foster family.

Since her rescue, Sammi has made tremendous progress with trust and confidence. She now enjoys going on walks, especially with a canine friend, and even runs in the yard, sometimes chasing a ball! She’s heart clear, healthy, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and scheduled for spaying on November 11. Housetrained and comfortable sleeping in a crate, she’d also love to curl up in bed with her new family.

Sammi will thrive in a calm, loving home with someone home most of the day. A fenced yard is a must, as is the companionship of a confident, well-balanced dog. Older, respectful children are fine too. If you can be patient and let Sammi explore life at her own pace, she will reward you with boundless love and devotion. She is 1 1/2 years old and 17 pounds. She is being fostered in Jackson Springs, NC.

Could you be the forever family for this gentle, loving Cavalier?

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!

We can't believe that there hasn't been any interest in Peyton! Below is her updated profile:

Hi! My name is Peyton, I am a very sweet 4-year-old (DOB 7/19/2020) commercial breeding mama and am currently being fostered near Raleigh NC.

I am a very happy girl who LOVES company. I will follow you everywhere….unless it is a scary place. There are lots of scary places out here in the real world. I want to cuddle more and more, but still figuring that out too.

I still don’t really understand playing, but I am currently living with a 1 year old Cavalier puppy who realllly wants me to figure it out. I do go for walks with him, but there is a ton of new stuff to take in, so I stop quite a bit just to look around, sniff and take it all in.

The puppy keeps me company when my Foster Mommy has to leave the house, and boy, is he a comfort. We hang out in our playpen and cuddle. When I am all alone, I will let you know I am not a fan by barking. If I am in a crate with another dog in sight in a crate, I am much better.

I also have a big Golden Retriever around. She is nice, but reallly scary. I sure wish it was only small, calmer dogs with me.
I had a good check-up at the doctor. I am all up to date with my shots and I got spayed and got rid of those yucky bad teeth and feel all better. They did take a bunch of teeth out, but I still have my canines, so my tongue doesn’t hang out. Phew! I definitely like eating much better now. Now, when it is meal time, I do my circle dance in excitement. This diet is starting to stink now that I like eating more, but I sure love it when I get treats. I do love frozen green beans, blue berries and lots of veggies, so it makes dieting easier.

I have done great with potty training and have only had a couple accidents. Now that my foster Mommy started understanding the signs….I have been VERY good and LOVE to get praised with a small treat.

I would do great in a home on the quiet side with another smallish, calmer dogs. I would like to sleep with my human and do like to go on car rides and adventures, but right now, I prefer to be in a stroller when out in a busy area. I am ready to give tons of love to my forever human(s).

I am really excited to meet my forever home, could it be you?

If you feel that Peyton is a good fit for you, please fill out the online adoption application on the Contact Us page on our website.

ADOPTED!!

Meet Tatum! Fostered in King George VA.
Tatum is a small (15 lb) bundle of toe-tapping energy wrapped in a Cavapoo body. She is quickly learning how to be a regular dog and is making great strides every day.

Tatum gets along wonderfully with all of her foster's dogs and loves to cuddle with them on beds. She is a couch potato at heart and has become quite attached to laying on her Foster dad's lap. At night, she prefers sleeping in the bed, snuggled up to a human, where she feels most secure.

Whether in a home with other dogs or as the only lap dog in the house, Tatum will be content. She coexists peacefully with the foster's two cats, showing no interest in them. Initially a bit shy, Tatum is gradually coming out of her shell and showing her sweet personality.

Tatum has mastered the stairs and is making steady progress with the doggy door and house training, having fewer accidents each day.

If you're looking for a loving, cuddly companion who is eager to continue her journey of learning and growth, Tatum might be the perfect addition to your home!

Contact us today to meet Tatum and see if she’s the right fit for your family!

Meet Rory & R***r: A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home!

Rory (a mostly white Cavachon) and R***r (a Cavalier with adorable auburn ears) are two sweet boys who just need love and stability! They are best friends and must be adopted together. Both are 33 pounds, neutered, and up to date on all vaccines. They could both stand to lose about 5 pounds, but are proportional to their size.

These playful pups are potty trained, love to run around, and are great with other dogs and children. They love bully sticks and it keeps them occupied after playing hard outside. A fenced in yard would be ideal for these boys. They are being fostered in the Richmond, VA area.

Thanks to a generous sponsor, half of their adoption fee is covered if adopted as a pair. Could your home be their forever home?

Reach out today to meet Rory and R***r!

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!

Meet your new cuddle buddy, Candy!

Candy is the sweetest Cavapoo, with irresistible big brown eyes. Candy’s favorite spot is snuggled up with you. So much so, that’s taken to being my husband’s little spoon at night. If you stop petting her, she’ll gently put her paw on your hand to kindly ask for more. Even after all she’s gone through as a commercial breeder, her trust of us was instant, and how amazing is that.

Candy has really come out of her shell and is really learning to “puppy”! She’s learned that treats are delicious, and is starting to play with toys, we’ve even gotten a few happy prances around the yard with our cavapoo boy! While she tolerates him outside, she’s mostly annoyed by his puppy energy, and might do well in a home with a calmer furry sibling. She’s not very vocal, sleeps through the night, and almost has her potty training down!

I have 3 kids ranging from 5-10, and they all love each other! I think because they are still learning to trust people, it might not be best to go with super little kids who would pull their tails or inadvertently hurt them etc. We’ve had to remind my 8 year old boy a few times that they are small, and new to living with a family. I’m sure she’ll be a little shy and unsure at first, but give her a few days, and you’ll have a happy puppy and a lifelong friend!

Candy is small but muscular, strong through and through! She looks like she must have been mixed with a Blenheim cavalier, as she has the most gorgeous golden and honey coloring. My oldest daughter has been calling her Goldie Girl! She has the softest, silkiest ears, I love just rubbing them while she snoozes in my lap. She is truly a treasure.

Candy has been fixed and vetted, and is ready for her forever home! She is being fostered in the Williamsburg, VA area.

If you think Candy is a match for you, please go to our website: cavalierrescuecoalition.org and go to the Contact Us page and fill out our online application.
