Meet Phoebe, an adorable 8-month-old, 10-pound tri-color girl with a heart full of love! Phoebe is a cuddle bug who enjoys snuggling on the couch, especially when she can lay on her foster mom's hip. She's also a playful pup who gets along well with other dogs in the house.

Phoebe is still working on her potty training and would benefit from a consistent schedule to help her master it. She is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccinations, sleeps through the night in the big bed, and knows basic commands.

Meet Priscilla: Fostered in Raleigh NC

Priscilla is a gentle and shy 5 yr. old Cavapoo who is searching for a loving forever home. While she might take a bit of time to warm up, once she trusts you, she’ll be your loyal and constant companion. Her favorite activities include snuggling up in her cozy beanbag and soaking up attention from her foster mom. She also enjoys the company of her furry foster siblings, often laying with them and following them around, making her an ideal match for a home with other dogs.

Priscilla is still working on her potty training, so she’ll need a bit of patience and guidance in this area. A home with only older children who can offer gentle love and understanding would be the best fit for Priscilla.

Located in Chester VA. I am Maggie, affectionately called Maggie Mae by my foster Mom. I am a darling 3.5 years old girl who lived in breeding situation before coming into rescue. I have recently had a spay, a
dental cleaning and am up to date on my vaccines and as well as micro-chipped. I weigh approximately 20 lbs.

I am quickly learning that humans are loving and kind and a home is a great place to live. I’m still a little skittish with sudden movements because this is all so new to me. I’m still learning
that I’m supposed to go potty outside. I like to use potty pads but with consistency and keeping on schedule, I’m getting better. Grass is something my foster Mom does not think I ever
experienced where I lived as I prefer to potty on the patio or sidewalk. If you will be patient with me, I will learn as I really want to please my people. I love lots of praise.

I am a very affectionate girl and have a way of melting your heart when I stare into your face with my big brown eyes. I like to snuggle up next to you on the couch and lean my head against
your chest while staring into your eyes. I really know how to turn on the charm! I’m a fairly low key low energy girl and don’t really know what to do with toys because I probably never had
any where I lived.

I would love a quiet gentle home where someone is home most of the time as I will need continued work and reinforcement in my house training. I will need a securely fenced yard to
keep me safe. Another canine companion would be great to help me learn. I don’t know if I like cats or not as I’ve never been around them before.

Meet Tatum! Fostered in King George VA.

Tatum is a small (15 lb) bundle of toe-tapping energy wrapped in a Cavapoo body. She is quickly learning how to be a regular dog and is making great strides every day.

Tatum gets along wonderfully with all of her foster's dogs and loves to cuddle with them on beds. She is a couch potato at heart and has become quite attached to laying on her Foster dad's lap. At night, she prefers sleeping in the bed, snuggled up to a human, where she feels most secure.

Whether in a home with other dogs or as the only lap dog in the house, Tatum will be content. She coexists peacefully with the foster's two cats, showing no interest in them. Initially a bit shy, Tatum is gradually coming out of her shell and showing her sweet personality.

Tatum has mastered the stairs and is making steady progress with the doggy door and house training, having fewer accidents each day.

Amanda is a beautiful Black & Tan girl who will be turning 5 years old in August. She’s a former commercial breeder who has had a tough start in life and is still scared of most things. When she came to us, she was on the chunky side, but we’ve been helping her get back to a healthy weight.

Amanda needs a loving home that can help her transition to the "good life." She’s been in foster care since May 18 and has made progress, especially enjoying the company of other dogs in the household. However, she still needs time to get comfortable in her new world. Amanda is not yet ready for sudden approaches or being held, especially by women, due to the trauma she has endured. She needs a special home to continue her journey from a commercial breeding dog to a cherished family member.

Amanda is healthy and up-to-date on all her vaccines, as confirmed by our vet. She will need leash training and a home with a fenced yard.

Given her unique needs, we are only considering experienced homes without young children. Amanda seems to favor men and is slowly beginning to approach her foster mom for treats.

If you are a first-time dog adopter, Amanda is not the right fit for you. But if you have experience and the patience to help a sweet girl like Amanda, she could be the perfect addition to your home.

Introducing Sue! This sweet, smart, happy, and funny Cavalier King Charles Spaniel will turn 4 years old on September 19. Sue’s journey began as a commercial breeder, but she is quickly learning the joys of being a beloved pet in her foster home.

Sue has discovered the delight of toys and loves squeaking them and carrying them around. She’s a big fan of treats, especially bully sticks, duck feet, and her bedtime baby carrots. Sue adores her foster siblings and is often found playing, racing around the yard, or cuddling with them. She would thrive in a home with another dog to keep her company.

When Sue first came to rescue, she was afraid of everything. Thanks to her foster siblings Daisy and Odie, she has gained confidence and learned that people can be good. Sue is always excited to see her foster parents and showers them with kisses. While she’s still a bit scared of being picked up or petted, she’s making progress every day. With patience, she will learn to love cuddling with humans too.

Sue will need a fenced yard in her forever home as she continues to learn leash walking. She is heart-clear, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped.

Once again we're looking for foster homes - we have 11 dogs coming in on Thursday (we have no idea of colors, ages, health, etc. - so standby) and then this group on the 29th. That's 18 dogs within a 10 day period. We took in a total of 38 dogs in 2023. Once this group arrives, we will have taken in 56 dogs in the 1st half of 2024. That's a staggering number for a small rescue group. But we can't do it without our volunteers and donors! Meet Cole: Your Future Furry Friend

Hi, my name is Cole, and I am around 5 months old. I had a very rough start to life in a commercial breeding facility, so humans still scare me a little. However, over the last month, I have become more tolerant of my foster family touching me. Granted, my foster mom bribes me with treats, but that works for me because I love treats!

As I am starting to feel more comfortable, I am letting my foster family see my silly and goofy side. Oh, and I love to chew! So, whoever adopts me better have lots of things for me to chew on.

I am learning to play fetch from my foster sisters, but I like to keep the ball once I have it. I would really like a family of my own that has other dogs for me to play and cuddle with. I still have some accidents in the house, but I am getting better by the day. I haven’t had a single accident while camping with my foster family this week!

I also met some tiny humans at the campground who intrigued me. They made a big deal over me, so I reluctantly let them pet me. I am doing very well walking with my foster pack. The vet said that I am healthy, but I do have a small underbite and umbilical hernia, and I will need to be neutered. I will be adopted with a neuter contract.

Meet Valona! A sweet, loving 3-year-old (3/14/21) mill mamma.
She is a happy little girl acclimating to her new way of life, with her foster family and her 2 resident cavaliers.
She is still very skittish, from her kennel days, but is slowly making strides every day.

Valona is a healthy 16lb cavalier, who is fully vaccinated, and had her spay and dental.

She loves playing with her toys, catching the ball, and her “zoomed time” with her 2 buddies in her secure fenced-in yard. She also enjoys lounging around the house, and watching TV with her favorite toy, “Lambchop” when settling in. She can also be vocal when watching dog commercials. She can be very comical.

Valona is very playful and loving and follows her foster mother everywhere. She sleeps in the foster family's bed with her canine counterparts, as they are inseparable. She is not fond of her crate, although she can stay in it for up to 3 hrs when her foster mother has commitments.

She enjoys her car rides and is very well-behaved in the car.

She is potty trained but still needs positive reinforcement. She goes outside every 2-3 hours, to avoid any accidents and is an ongoing work in progress.

Valona would do well with another playful, gentle cavalier, and would do best, with a quiet and loving home, where her family is home most of the day, so she can continue to practice good potty habits, and her leash walking and commands.

Valona needs a family who will love her unconditionally and will exercise patience with her ongoing training. She is ready to meet her family, and live her best life!

Sue has come a long way in 3 days! Today she discovered bully strips and is in heaven. She really wants attention and wants to trust people. She will come to us wagging her tail and sniff our hands but won't get close enough to pet yet. Loud noises and quick movements still scare her. However, she has gone from hiding behind the expen and not eating, to running around, going outside, trying to play, and eating well. Did I mention that she hasn't had a single accident in the house? She loves to sit on the deck watching (and chasing) the deer on the other side of the fence and the lizards on the deck. She's loving the good life! Sue will definitely need a fenced yard because she's still terrified of a harness and leash but that will come with time.
