He is still very green and only lease or sale options will be entertained if you or your student meets the criteria he requires to excel.

Phantom of the Night “Phin” is a premium 2017 GRP gelding. Sired by Evans Providence of the Night out of VPrSt Edenhof’s Dekadence (Dream Along x Replikah HF x Regulus)

Phin has been started under saddle, WTC and over fences, and is currently in training under Stevie Brook LeCain.
He is a sensitive pony that needs a confident and forward rider making him best suited for a professional or amateur rider comfortable with green horses and in a training program as he can be a bit opinionated about hard work at times. He does best in a program being ridden 3-5 times weekly as he is still green!

He has taken a quick interest in jumping and we have hopes that he will find an Eventing home as he has the movement and capability for upper level dressage with the scope to make a very capable and neat jumper in the ring and on cross country.

He has been to many schooling shows, dressage and over fences, and handles the atmosphere like a pro. His current trainer has instructed off of him, changing and resetting fences, mounting and dismounting in a warm up ring of 20+ horses and he didn’t bat an eye.

Disclosure: Phin was born with a micropthalmia of the left eye that does not effect his ride ability or day to day life. It only makes him a bit special to all of us in his life - he is a completely normal horse and requires no maintenance or special treatment for this defect.

Even the smallest equines may need clipping in the spring. 🦄

Miniatures are notorious for being late shedders and having thick hair coats. With the fluctuating weather of a classic Virginia ”spring” a body clip may help your horses regulate their body temperature better and avoid overheating.

WELCOME SPRING!

PSA No. 1: During shedding season, wear lip balm and fleece at your own risk.

PSA No. 2: If your horse is NOT shedding his coat this spring, or even not shedding as much as you think he should be, be sure to give your veterinarian a call — especially if your horse is 15 or older. A long haircoat that fails to shed according to normal seasonal patterns is the most classic sign of Equine Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction (PPID), also known as Cushing’s disease. This disorder of the pituitary gland results in hormonal imbalances and is one of the most common diseases of middle-aged and geriatric horses.

Recognition of the clinical signs and early diagnoses are the first steps in identification of horses with PPID; treatment and implementation of excellent wellness practices (like strict attention to diet, teeth and hooves) are the key features to extending the life of a horse with PPID. Without treatment, symptoms tend to worsen over time and many horses are euthanized as a consequence of laminitis, recurrent foot abscesses or complications related to bacterial infections.
