Many people have reached out with condolences and have also asked where they may donate. Although I'm sure Dr. Franck has several causes close to her heart, donating to this rescue will ensure that her pets, rescue and personal, get the care they need before they are able to be placed into new homes, which is our top priority at this moment. Dr. Franck worked directly with PCAR to TNR cats, as well as help with medical care of dogs, cats, and rabbits from our area.

Dear El Sobrante Veterinary Hospital Clients,

It is with a heavy heart we must share very sad news with you. Dr. Lisa M. Franck, owner of the clinic, and my sister, unexpectedly passed away the morning of September 24. We have temporarily closed the practice as we take time to mourn this huge and tragic loss. Please know Dr. Franck loved all her patients very much and considered her employees and clients her extended family. I was very close with my sister and heard many stories about her furry friends and the joy they brought to her far too brief life.

Our goal is to continue the practice, but there will be some legal and adminstrative details to be worked out. We intend to bring in a veterinarian who can take over care of Dr. Franck's patients at the same level of quality and dedication to her patients she provided. However, to be compliant with the regulations for Veterinary Medicine, we will be limited on the services we can offer for a short time until we can achieve that. We will do our best to keep you informed as we move forward.

In this time of grief, one of the many challenges we are facing is we need to find loving homes for the rescue kitties Dr. Franck left behind. As you may know, her life's purpose was to save as many as she possibly could, and she was hugely impactful in that goal. We are grateful to our rescue coordinator, Erica, for all she has done and is doing to support the rescue animals and she will work with you to find a new family member that is perfect for you.

Angelo has been officially ADOPTED! A little late post; we had to all make sure Angelo wouldn’t goof up and make his foster parents change their minds. 🐈🤓🐈‍⬛. We miss him SO much, but we are ecstatic that he has his own family to appreciate his unique personality.

Wasabi has been waiting for someone to call his own. He is a silly guy, who enjoys gazing out the window, napping, playing with toys, chasing and being chased by ghosts 👻, snacking, and frolicking. He wishes he had a cozy home to relax in, with someone who loves him.

Meet Ginger 🧡 this sweet guy has been living in a backyard in Vallejo for over a year. They do have a shed for him (for shelter), but Ginger really wants to come inside the house. Unfortunately, they have other pets that are too aggressive. Ginger is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. We would love to get him into a foster home or a forever home. He’s very loving. When his people come to sit with him every day, he’s so excited… And then he ends up, falling asleep on their feet. If you would like to help Ginger contact Jake’s Place 415-548-0824.

It's kitten season! Did you know that ESVH has a TNR Fund to help our feral community cats? Since January, we have helped spay/neuter 41 community cats, utilizing our fund, with donations from YOU! Our fund has been depleted, at the time when it is most needed.
