National Pet Dental Health Month is here!! 🦷

For the entire month of February, we're offering 10% off routine dental cleanings and dental radiographs!

Just like humans, oral health plays a huge role in our pets overall well-being. Without routine dental care, pets develop periodontal disease, which causes smelly breath, infected gums and tooth loss. At its later stages, it can even spread infection to the kidneys, liver and heart.

If you have any concerns at all about your pets' oral health, contact our office to schedule an appointment!!

🐾 Train Your Dog Month! 🐾

Did you know we offered training at IVC?! We do!

This is our resident dog trainer, Isabelle, working on puppy push ups with little Wilson! Puppy push ups are a great exercise to workout your puppy's body and mind!
Training can be beneficial for all dogs in every stage of life.
Whether you're working on behavior modification or just want to teach your dog some tricks, training can help:
🦴 Improve your relationship with your dog
🦴 Reduce anxiety and increase confidence
🦴 Provide mental stimulation
🦴 Reduce unwanted behaviors
🦴 Open up new opportunities for you and your dog!

If you want to stop your dog's naughty behaviors, or if you're interested in simply providing them with more mental stimulation, reach out to our office to set up a consultation with Isabelle! ☮️

Dr. Angus!! 🐾

We're absolutely thrilled to announce we've added Dr. Angus to our team!! Many of our clients have already had the pleasure of meeting her over the past couple of months.

Dr. Angus grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She attended to the University of Virginia where she earned her undergraduate degree in Environmental Science. After spending time working in the field in Montana, she decided to pursue veterinary medicine.

Dr. Angus attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2018. After graduation, she moved to Maine to practice as an equine veterinarian with Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic. During her 3 years with Annabessacook, Dr. Angus began studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, and also gained a wide variety of experiences including primary care, emergency medicine, sports medicine, ophthalmology, and critical care of hospitalized patients. She moved back to Richmond in 2021 to work with Woodside Equine Clinic. During her time at Woodside, she became certified in animal chiropractic and continued to expand her knowledge on the benefits of both Chiropractic and Acupuncture in sports medicine and difficult cases.

Dr. Angus is excited to be part of the team at the Integrative Veterinary Center where she can continue to pursue her passion for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Chiropractic. She is certified in acupuncture through the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine in Florida and in Animal Chiropractic through the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

In her free time, Dr. Angus prefers to be spending time on her farm with her husband, two small children, her 2 cattle dogs, her cat, and her horses. If she is not with her family, you can probably find her somewhere riding a horse.

💧BOILED WATER ADVISORY💧

As more and more people are affected by water outages and boiled water advisories, we've been getting more and more questions about how best to take care of our pets.

If you live in an area under a boiled water advisory, then please follow this guidance if you are not able to provide bottled water or clean drinking water for your pet. If you feed a diet that requires rehydration, then be mindful of this as well and use an appropriate water source.

To err on the side of caution, if the tap water is unsafe for human consumption, then assume it's unsafe for pet consumption as well.

If you have any questions or concerns about your pets please feel free to call or email the office.

Our parking lot is incredibly icy right now so PLEASE be careful walking in. We're hopeful it'll melt and be better as the day goes on.

Our staff is playing a little catch up today with emails and messages, but we'll get to everyone as soon as we can.
