Paisley has officially been adopted!! He's been in his adoptive for months, but the paperwork has officially been completed :) He was one of the the feral pups from northern Missouri. He wanted to be a pet, he didn't want to be feral anymore and I'm glad we were able to help him along that process!

We were able to help 48 families feed their pets today. Thank you to Walmart Richmond - Walton Way, Harps, Liberty Animal Control & Shelter, and our volunteers who help pick up/load and unload/and distribute!

Trisha saw the toy as we were walking past and even though she so badly wants to keep up with us, she had to grab the toy too. ❤️ only Trisha and Miranda are left looking for homes. These are some really good pups!

Pet Food Distribution is this Sunday from 2-3. It's going to be HOT. Ugh, if you want to show up to hand out food please do and BRING WATER! We have very limited cat food and I don't think we have any litter. We should have enough dry dog food though. I think we have an extra wood pallet in there so if anyone wants to take that pallet please let me know, it's totally in our way lol.

One of our big fears when taking in puppies is, will they find homes? We don't want these pups stuck growing up in rescue. PLEASE help them find homes. Share with your friends/family members...share in any groups you can think that will let you post about dogs in needs.

Trisha is the most wrinkly of this litter. She’s also the one who must think about things…is it safe to go over there? She’s braver with others than by herself so another friendly dog in the home will be a requirement for her. She loves people and loves to run around and play Rhodesian/lab/hound mix probably going to be 60 pounds or so. Who wouldn’t love to have this adorable pup in their lives!

Miranda is probably a lab/Rhodesian/hound mix. Out of the 5 pups she's the most willing to explore and check new things out. She's so sweet and friendly and her willing personality will make her ideal for an active family. Miranda will probably be 60+ pounds when full grown. She's the chubbiest of her litter as well, so she likes her food I could easily see this pup being an adventure companion for hikers, campers, etc with some basic training. She's so brave and only 3 months old.

Adopted!! Gwen really loves squeak toys. She’s such a sweet girl. She has a gold red coat and a tiny white line on her head. She will probably be a good fetcher and family dog. She’s only 3 months old and is already social and fun to be around. She has so much potential. She’s going to be a good dog. We believe these pups are Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound/Lab/Bully breed mixes.

Adoption fee is $250 and includes their spays, vaccines, and microchip. The pups are located in the Richmond, MO area...which is a nice easy drive from the KC area :)

Update! Hopefully she’s all done. 11 live pups and 2 stillborn.

Gracie is in labor. It’s been a long drawn out labor. She went to the vet today and meds are on board, but a c-section may still be necessary. Say a prayer!

Opie 2008?-July 24, 2024. Opie was an unexpected rescue. I went to the KC shelter to check out a cat that came in that Sandi thought was one she knew. In the cage above him was this teenage feral kitten in his litterbox with big eyes and hissing. I made eye contact...and that's all it took for me to have to leave a note with the front desk people that if it was time for him to be euthanized, call me instead. I can't remember the exact month/day/etc. They called and I went and got him. Opie eventually became a mostly tame/affectionate cat with Donna and me. I have more photos, but it still hurts to see Mercy's photos so I can't look thru my phone. These are the more recent ones I found. He was a good cat and I'm glad we were able to let him live a long peaceful life.

🎉ADOPTED!🎉 Blake is the only boy in the 5 pups we have. He’s a great cuddler already. He’s more mellow than his siblings and sweet natured. He’s looking for a foster or adoptive home. 3 months old. Probably ridgeback/ hound/lab mix and I’m guessing he’ll be 50-60 pounds when he grows up. Located in Richmond, MO which is only 40-50 mins from Liberty, Kansas City, etc.

Gwen thinks toys are great! This little girl is quite social, and she might be the talker of the bunch? She’s a golden tan color and adorable! She was born April 13th and will probably reach at least 50-60 pounds when full grown. Those 5 pups we are taking? I saw the post and couldn’t stop thinking about them. Mercy was half Rhodesian and these look like mixes. We don’t take in pups! I don’t pull dogs from out of state much. But I had to help these pups. I found out their birthdate today… they were born the day Mercy died. ❤️

Time spent on the porch with my 2 dogs (Mable the Aussie and Macallan the collie) along with sanctuary residents Milo, Quinn, Sienna, and Reegade. All 4 need sponsors. Just $50 a month per dog helps cover their treats, toys, meds, etc. Quinn, Sienna, and Renegade are feral dogs.

Milo enjoying some time on the porch. He is a sanctuary resident. He was owner surrendered because his biting was too much. He has some pretty severe stranger issues at his home and places he’s comfortable at. We love Milo and he’s safe here until his health determines it’s time to let him go. We’d love a $50 a month sponsor for him. ❤️

Rescue dogs playing around. I had been trying to get a photo of Bessie. She kept doing little hops, so I switched to video mode. Odin came running up and sat immediately hoping to get Bessie’s treat. Such a good pack of rescues and sanctuary dogs right now. ❤️

Sanctuary dogs saying hi to Jenifer’s personal dog for their playtime session. The collie is Jenifer’s. The other dogs are Sienna (red ticked hound/cattle dog mix), Quinn (black and tan pup), and Renegade (pointy eared red mix). All 3 of these are/were feral dogs. All 3 still need monthly sponsors. $50 a month and you’ll help them have toys, treats, etc. #helpthem #sanctuarylife

Wylie playing in the pool. He’s such a water loving dog. Wylie is doing great here, and with his various issues we’d be comfortable placing him as an outdoor dog in appropriate setting. He’s pretty good with most other dogs. Probably better with bigger dogs than little ones. No livestock. Wylie is located n Richmond, MO. ❤️

My evening after the thrift shop is spent with the rescue dogs, cleaning, feeding, and socializing. It’s so nice to be able to let everyone out to play and be themselves. We have 3 separate play groups right now. This is Milo, Renegade, Sienna, her pups (Quinn and Paisley), Monty, and my dogs.

These two pups will soon be available for adoption. They will only be able to go to a home with another dog. They are still nervous of people and will need some gentle handling as they learn to trust more. #wildpuppies

Stray girl will likely be available for adoption next week. We’ve done the posts, the newspaper ads, and no one has come forward. She was out in a pasture near Dockery, MO for over a week and we have now had her over a week as well. She goes Monday to the vet for her vetting. We need a name for her! I’m guessing she’s 3-7 years old…I’ll let the vet be the one to really guess lol. Very sweet with people, but also flinchy. She rolls over constantly…if you move your arms quickly she falls down and rolls over. A bit nervous/anxious but still sweet. She’s unsure with other dogs and does a deep growl and pushes them away. My dogs are not comfortable around her. I have let her see my cats, she ignored them, but they didn’t trust her at all. They immediately left the room. So maybe an only pet home for this girl.
