Retirement… it’s the unspoken thing of a breeding program. Something that every breeder dreads. It’s something that the outside world criticizes us for sometimes… that our dogs aren’t loved and are unwanted… However, it’s FAR from that. In a reputable and responsible breeding program, it’s something that’s essential. It’s something we are forced to do to continue breeding and bettering the breeds we love. It’s not something we necessarily want to do, but have to do. It’s 100% putting the dogs and the breed first. No doubt tears are shed and it’s the hardest part of being a responsible breeder. So many think it’s the puppies leaving, but it’s not… it’s this right here. The biggest part of loving your dogs and putting them first is making sure you find the perfect fit for their retirement home. No one knows your dogs better than you and it’s your job as a reputable breeder to ensure that perfect home is found. Ensuring that if anything was to ever happen, the dog would come back to you and you only. With all this being said, when you see a breeder offering a dog up for retirement, always be kind. Know that they are truly putting the dog and the breed they love first. ❤️🐾

Huck officially starts his retirement tomorrow and will have his neuter surgery in the morning. Send our handsome, sweet boy all the well wishes 🤎🤎🤎
