🍭Halloween is quickly approaching, is your pet ready? 🍬Here are a few tips on ensuring that your pet is safe!

1. Keep candy out of reach (especially chocolate)! Sugar free candy includes Xylitol which is VERY toxic to pets. 🤢
2. Wires, decorations and candy wrappers can become hazards for pets. Tin foil and cellophane become very dangerous if swallowed. 😧
3. Be careful around lit pumpkins. Pets may have a curiosity about pumpkins and accidentally knock them over creating a fire hazard. 🎃
4. If your pet gets stressed with trick or treaters, consider turning off your front porch light until trick or treating is done. You can also keep your pets in a safe separate room if it will keep them calm. 🍭
5. Costumes! Try on your pet safe costumes before leaving the house. If your pet seems stressed, find an alternative or consider not dressing them up. An uncomfortable costume may cause your pet stress. 👻

✨Orthopedic Surgery Sucess✨ NVC - Richmond recently performed a FHO surgery on a 2 year old mixed breed. Check out these pre and post-op radiographs. 🩻 Sweet little “Kai”was brave and expected to heal very well. ☺️

☺️Have you met Dr. Pope? Dr. Pope grew up in Sugar Land Texas and has been in the veterinary profession since 2015. She started as a technician during her undergraduate years where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The University of Houston. Since then, she has graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing at NVC - Richmond since 2023. Her passion is being able to nurture the human-animal bond through education and medicine.🩷

🩺Dr. Pope enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her Labrador Retriever, Daisy. She also enjoys traveling, volleyball, and scuba diving in her free time. 🏐🤿✈️
