**Update** Jack is heading into surgery now. They have found a blockage. Surgery will last 1-1 1/2hrs. As soon as I get word I will update. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.

One month until our grand opening! I can't believe it's finally here. After years of planning and preparation, we're excited to finally offer compassionate pet cremation services to our community.
Our equipment is scheduled to arrive soon, followed by a 3-day training with the equipment manufacturer. I'm so ready to learn more about this new equipment and how it will allow us to provide the best possible care for our furry friends.

Put in the work and time, you will get results. The success rate is measured on how much work you put in!
The sheer number of amazingly well trained dogs, walking around like they don’t know anything, is astounding. 🤣
If only this dog training thing could be successfully outsourced and one could spend the money, put in the minimal time to check the box, and count on the work that some expert shared with your dog and yourself…and all the great stuff would last.
There’s reasons well-trained dogs backslide, and past issues come sneaking back in: you’re not skilled enough, knowledgeable enough, haven’t done the necessary emotional work enough… and most common, you’re not disciplined enough.
Regardless of the money spent, your dog will only be as good as you are. YOU have to become the equal to that which you desire. What are your goals? What are the issues you’re facing? What level of skill/personal transformation/sacrifice are required for you to achieve those goals and overcome those obstacles? And are you willing to put in that time and make those sacrifices a daily thing? If not, no complaining about your dog backsliding—only one of you is responsible for the “sliding” around here. 😉
Time to get to work, and time to own up. No complaining about the results you didn’t get from the work you didn’t do.
As Winston Churchill famously said, “A well-trained dog is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

Riggs has blossoming into quite the gentleman. He still has a lot of puppy in him, but you can definitely see the transformation from his first session. I will miss seeing this smiling little face every week 🥹

Charlie’s Dog Obedience Training would like to give a huge congratulations to April and Isabelle on their successful completion of basic obedience!
Isabelle started off wild as can be and now she is a completely different dog. April is much more confident in herself when it comes to working with Isabelle. Isabelle had a health scare that caused her to miss several weeks, but these two picked right back up like they never missed a day. I’m very happy and pleased with their training progress.

There has been a concerning rise in cases of Parvovirus in Fife.
To ensure the safety of all dogs, please refrain from bringing your dog to the unit if they are unwell or show any symptoms, as outlined in the accompanying image.
Even vaccinated dogs are being affected, alongside those that are unvaccinated.
As a precautionary measure, I kindly request that all customers keep their dogs in the car until the booking-in process is complete and I have had the chance to assess your dog *before* it exits the vehicle.
We will not admit any dog to the unit if they exhibit any signs of illness.
We are acutely aware that Canine Parvovirus is highly contagious and can be fatal, particularly for young, elderly, or immunocompromised dogs.
We do disinfect the unit on a regular basis and we have increased this practice.
I hope you understand the importance of these precautions.

I can’t want your dog to succeed more than you!
Dog training is a big commitment both financially and emotionally. Trainers put a lot of time, love, dedication and hard work into the dogs they train. Nothing hurts us more than to see a dog we've worked with revert to old habits.
We cannot care more about your dog's success than you do. We cannot move into your home and raise your dog for you. At the end of the day it's up to you to follow through. It's up to you to cultivate a balanced relationship with your dog. You owe it to your dog and yourself to be their leader, to thrive together.
This goes double for owners with multiple dogs in the home. Especially if those dogs are fighting. The dogs are fighting because they do not have a clear idea of who is in charge. Dogs who fight in the same home are taking it upon themselves to control the situation. Whether it be food, toys, space or people, the dogs have taken over and no longer see their owner as an authority figure.
Trainers send home homework, with rules and guidelines to follow. We do this for the success of you and your dog, we want to see you succeed. We want to see you live a happy life with your dogs. You're doing yourself and your dog's a disservice by not following through.
I get it, consistency can be very hard, especially when you've lived without structure with your dogs for so long. But I ask you, what have you got to lose? You'll only continue to live in chaos.
I always challenge my clients to be the best possible versions of themselves, not just for their dogs, but for themselves too!
Growth and change can be hard, but not harder than living with chaotic, disobedient and unbalanced dogs.
It's your choice.

Ellie did so well tonight. We worked on duration, door manners and thresholds. Ellie has some anxiety but you can see a huge difference when you work her mind. When you work and calm the mind you will see a difference in the dog. Giving them a “job” will give them clear direction and that will help them not feel as anxious. Sadie had a much better session tonight. We worked on adding duration to the sit, down and place command. We also started on her leash manners as well. Traci is working hard on being the leader that Sadie needs. Harley the German Shepherd that is reactive to people had a huge breakthrough. If he sees anyone outside his area he will bark and go off the rails. His owner said that if she is at a stop light and someone pulls up next to her or walks past them on the sidewalk, it is a nightmare. She is worried that one day he will break the glass on the door at home. Tonight Ericca was going to go through the drive through for dinner. She was stressed and almost backed out due to his reactivity. She said “either I can go in and worry that he will destroy my car or go through the drive through and he will be a nightmare”. We put a plan in place about how to shut it down immediately and the results were magnificent! I’m so proud of this guy! Harley is your typical German Shepherd. He has his person and can be a velcro dog. He has to be practically on top of his owner all the time. He has a lot of anxiety and will just whine or bark at his owner all the time. In this video you can see a huge difference. Ericca is able to move out of sight and the whining is minimal. Riley is progressing so well. His separation anxiety is slowly improving and will take some time to adjust to his new life style. He did fabulous with the start of his sit-stay and down-stay.
