It's the little things like this that make our jobs SO rewarding. βΊοΈ Polly knows that "Going to For Paws" = the most fun ever! πΆπ
(Thank you to Polly's mom for sending this adorable video, it made our day!)
We wanted to make a post to our For Paws Family and the community. Yesterday we had an incident at the facility which resulted in one of our daycare clients escaping. First and foremost we want everyone to know that the safety and security of the clients in our care is our top priority. Abby was coming inside with her group of buddies for their βcool down timeβ since it was very hot and we stay on a rotating schedule due to temperatures. During that time Abby unexpectedly and quickly opened the door to our daycare room which leads into our lobby and darted directly to the front door and somehow pushed thru the front door. The events took place in mere seconds. Many staff members quickly reacted to try and catch Abby both in the lobby and as she exited the building. The staff then proceeded to follow Abby about a mile both on foot and via car onto the neighboring farm. Unfortunately Abby ran into a wooded area and we lost track of her from there.
We are doing everything we can think of to try and make sure we bring Abby back home to her family. We had one search party late into the evening and another assembled early this morning, we have hired a tracking team to help us navigate the many acres of farm land. Weβve hired multiple drone companies to help survey the area. Another search and rescue drone is being brought in tonight with thermal vision. Weβve sent people out with flyers to distribute all over the area in businesses, homes and farms. Weβve placed live traps all over the farm along with clothing items from her home in the hopes she will catch a scent. Weβve hired the best search and rescue team we could find that has been working since late last night, all through the night and currently still working. Not one person has taken this lightly and we are putting all our efforts into finding Abby. We are putting every effort and idea we have into action.
We know many of our clients are concerned about this incident and we apologize for n
